I went with my wife to have a beer for Saint Patrick’s day. As a tradition we like to drink a green beer on this day.I went to the bar to get the green beers and this bartender gave me blue beers instead. I told him they were not green and he responded he was out of the green coloring. He should’ve said it to me before adding the blue coloring into the beer and giving it to me.I took the beer because they looked busy and I didn’t wanted to complaint at the moment. But he should’ve off told me from the beginning there was no green coloring.My wife and I didn’t even drank the beer, we left them outside at a table and we left.

Went in a group of 12. All the food was good. I had pizza been making my own for over 50 years now I have to try making my dough with beer, after having thiers.
Quickly became one of my favorite places to go. The food is great, the atmosphere is chill and upbeat, and the staff is always on-point and friendly. Always such a fun time.

Yelp is subjective. If you've traveled around, you know what I mean. A five-star in NYC is vastly different than a 5 stars in, say Rockaway, NJ. I've been to Yelp 4 star places in the hallway of a YMCA that totally deserved 4 stars vs 5 star places in major cities (Cleveland and Boston specifically) that were no better than 3 star. So Tavern on the Rocks is a diamond in the rough. There are a lot of mediocre restaurants in the western quarter of NJ, and Tavern is not one of them. Tavern has a very tasty burger. The wings are arguably some of, if not, the best in the (what I will call) Tri- County area (vs Windlass, Knotty Pine, and Blue Spice Kitchen). The burger is very tasty (when cooked to temp....(An ongoing issue. Medium rare is just that. Why is it such a problem in this area?!?!) The take on a Taco Bell crunch wrap is life changing. Why is it so good?!?! My only wish (and I didn't ask) was hot sauce. If they included some Yellow Bird habanero sauce, this would be a perfect dish for me. Wings with an IPA and crunch wrap all day everyday (If I could)

Tried to go here for New Year's eve, and they closed at 6:00 p.m. I get that they were trying to give their waitresses and servers the night off, but it was kind of disappointing. I had hoped to be able to experience a new bar for the holiday. Hoping to stop by at some point in the future.

Awesome dive bar. Art inside is cool and the food we had was great. Wings are excellent. Good balance of meat and crunch. Pizza was good too. Very fragrant with the basil. Nachos were well covered with everything. Unfortunately we went right after the storm so they didn’t have much of their menu. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu.
