“Warm and friendly environment. All the food is freshly prepared, home cooking with a flair. The baked goods are plentiful and delicious. I drive 2 hours to go to this hidden gem. Caleb brews the best latte, coffee and hot beverages so save room for a speciality drink and some dessert. Not feeling well? Talk to Kim, the owner and she can put together some teas to fix what ails you. They also cater and sell cookie trays. Their prices are incredibly low considering the fresh ingredients.“
“This is such a great cafe! There’s not really any other good coffee shops in the area so I was so glad when I heard about Comfort Cafe! It’s cute and cozy inside with friendly staff and great food/drink options. I have a baby too so I especially appreciated the really nice changing table set-up in the bathroom!“
“I'm pretty obsessed with this place. The hours are a little hit and miss in the AM, but if you show up after 7:30 they're sure to be open. The food is excellent and the prices are exactly what you expect from a diner like this. The servers are all nice and they obviously have a lot of regulars, so they keep it light and joke around a lot. Make it feel like home away from home even if you're not one of them.“
“I visited Jessop's on a recommendation from another beer connoisseur and was not disappointed. The draft beer list was excellent, mostly Belgian beers with a few UK, German, and American crafts thrown in. They have a full bar, and plenty of cider and wine offerings for anyone who may not like beer. My wife liked the bloody mary, which was nice and spicy. The bar is not that large, so try to time your visit or get a reservation for a dining table. New Castle has very few restaurants, so it can get busy, especially on a nice weekend. We did not eat here, so this review is strictly based on the beer selection and bar service- both of which were excellent. The ambiance is great, feels like stepping back in time. The bar is very social and the bartender Jess was very welcoming and friendly. If you like beer, make sure Jessup's Tavern is on your list to visit!“
“Beatiful building, clean. And plenty of room. Huge bar with tons of seats. 4 golf Sims. 2 upstairs and 2 down. I didn't eat while there a few times. But the beer was cold. Service was good and pleasant workers. So much room great for meetings, parties. Etc.“
“Take out on the way home from North Carolina, get to the car ,short one hot dog. Go inside get replacement but unfortunately get home and my cousin who put his bag in the back also shorted so there goes $5.70 on the sauerkraut dog. Very good, prices are getting pretty high. Check your purchase before you leave if you're doing takeout“
“This is quickly become a new favorite. The food, music, atmosphere, and drinks are amazing. Q is an amazing bartender and Barb is the best hostess! I highly recommend their amazingly unique drinks, food, brunch, and desserts. You can't go wrong with any choice.“
“Back home for a quick visit with family and my sister talked about wanting to try them out. Read a few reviews on Yelp and had to give a try. Always enjoyed trying new spots and we were not disappointed. Everything was cooked to perfection and well seasoned too. Service whiling took some time was excellent as well. Food was hot and fresh. Fry's come with each order and for me the biggest standout was the Zhrimp Good size and crunchy. You have to check them out when in Philly. They are a food truck, but have a permanent spot.“
“This diner is clean, staff is friendly, and food is good. Servings are plentiful. If you want an alcoholic beverage, you can get one. I always enjoy a very large hand-pressed veggie burger with potato salad instead of french fries. The baked goods are large servings. For all this foid, they offer discounts for seniors and veterans.Vegetarian options: Veggie burger. Veggie panini, pastas with marinara sauce, eggplant, large breakfast selection if you eat dairy.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an outdoor ramp on one end of building but no automatic door.“
“Great dive bar. Used to come with my stepdad, now that he’s passed on we come because it still reminds me of him. It’s very much a dive with old bar stools, old tap handles and beer signs everywhere. But the vibe is great. Haven’t had the peanuts at the bar in a few years, wonder if they still serve “
“First time there with some friends. Went to see and hear a performer Jimmy Dunn (very talented guitarist and singer). Decided to have a bite to eat and was very impressed with the selection and food. In our group of seven everyone was very happy with their meal. Service from a young lady Doria was top notch. The tavern owner came over to greet us and later in the evening treated us to a complimentary drink. Will definately return in the future.“
“Old Bay honey wings are ridiculously good! The Cosmopolitan the bartender Diane made me was delicious and exactly how it's supposed to be made. They were friendly which made sitting at the bar really nice. The Cheesesteak was not my favorite the meat was basically steakums and tasted like it. That's my only gripe otherwise a great place“
“Everything was exceptional! The atmosphere was very clean, the service was full of smiles and the food was well made and really good! Even the bread rolls for the sandwiches were fresh. I will definitely be back and encourage others to try it. You won't be disappointed!“
“Beer was served very cold and a perfect pour. The burger me and my guest ordered where way overcooked. Both burgers ordered rare, both just slightly under well done. The burger itself was nothing special at all. It lacked flavor even with Swiss cheese and mushrooms. Maybe they are made fresh, but surely didn't appear to be. They never said they where, so I can't complain about that. I'll try again and try something else. It's a place that has stood the test of time.“
“I moved to South Jersey in 1988 when I was 13. My father worked at the Salem nuclear plant and his shop would order from here a couple of times a week. He brought home a large cheese steak one night for dinner for the three of us and it was delicious. It was so large that we could only eat half of it.I moved around Jersey over the years but I always thought about how great their subs were. I moved back to the area and went there again recently and they haven't skipped a beat. Still the same kind, friendly owners, still the unbelievably large delicious sandwiches I remember. This place may be in the middle of nowhere, but it is absolutely a must if you are driving through the South Jersey Salem County area.“
