Had dinner there w/ friends. Food & service were great. Very nice decor- open & airy but the noise from people around the bar was deafening. Hard to carry on a conversation without shouting! Not the place to go to have a serious conversation or a date!

Atmosphere was nice, ordered a veggie burger and you could tell they just got some generic brand from the supermarket, like morningstar farms or the like, had a typical hamburger bun, and got charged out the butt for it. Just seemed like the same food youd get at your cousin's bbq. Why not jazz it up with something better than a hamburger roll. Wife's portions were smaller and service was mediocre. It felt like the part of what I heard great things about this place have gone, and the corporate need to increase profit margins by skimping on quality and portion size took over. Didn't feel like it was authentic.

First visit of more to come. Fabulous menu. New England Clam chowder with puff pastry top is a winner. Top notch server, Awren our server (probably spelled her name wrong) was delightful - ordered a substitution of mashed potato, which was overlooked, and she offered a side dish with apology. No need, the polenta was good too. A little noisy and dark in the busy dining area, next time we will opt for the heated porch.

Rods is a great spot for casual coastal dining. The food is consistently tasty, and they offer a reasonable menu of gluten-free free options for those with diet restrictions that don't leave you stuck with a basic salad or plain chicken (something not many places offer). It may not have the most eclectic menu, but there is certainly something for everyone (even kids!).The atmosphere is great for a casual date night or dinner with your family. Stop by on the weekends during warm weather to enjoy the heated deck with a delicious beverage.Overall, it's our go-to for dinner with the inlaws or a night out when I can't convince myself to cook or clean dishes .. my husband never turns down a night at Rods, ladies. ?

Food was delicious, margarita was great, ambiance was very nice. My issue is with our server. I ordered the short ribs priced at $28 on the menu. My husband ordered the Lobster Roll on the specials menu. The waitress returned saying they didn't have the Lobster roll as she gave us the incorrect specials menu. When the check arrived, I questioned why the short ribs were charged at $32. She said it was the "Special". I had no idea there was a short rib special since we didn't get that menu. Rather than admit the mistake, she chose to lie. I checked the menu on the way out. The special included mushrooms & bacon. My meal did not. She, alone, left a bad taste in my mouth. Remember, honesty is always the best policy.
