Breakfast was rough. Oil soaked potatoes, chemically tasting ham, and >$35 for a standard breakfast.I would avoid and head over to the mall or do a grab and go for breakfast.Service was great and very friendly wait staff.

The Dining Room is located in the Hilton hotel at Short Hills and is where we went the next morning to have breakfast. The buffet was fantastic, one of the best breakfast buffets that we have all ever had. The spread was fantastic!

This particular outing involved the whole family . We spent time at lunch with a menu which was quite varied. There was something on the menu for everybody. The food was outstanding and the service was superb. Of course, there was a game room to engage in. I noticed the children, as well as, the adults enjoyed the afternoon at playing the video games provided. Upon visiting the other room there was a bar along with fabulous entertainment. This special day had an entertainer, named Bryan Breathes, who plays acoustic guitar. I sat at a side table enjoying the sweet tunes from Bryan. What a talented person! He gets you involved with his songs and talks to you between songs. His performance is quite varied as he portrays a number of songs by different artists. If you get the chance to visit this fine establishment, make a day of it--food, game room, and entertainment. YA ou will not be unhappy for this outing at the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

This is a solid dinner choice for a hotel restaurant atmosphere and food. It's a popular choice for local business people after work with good cocktails and highly social seating arrangement. The menu has a wide variety of healthy options and, of course, has the usual favorites with an upscale twist and preparation. You can do small bites and full entrees. The steak sandwich with wagyu beef and gruyere on ciabatta was excellent and the mushroom gravy made it outstanding. Shoestring fries were perfectly prepared and seasoned. The price is a little high as everything is a la carte, but it's definitely in the range of normal.

My daughter and I celebrated “life”together. We stayed overnight and had a wonderful dinner here. It was a wonderful experience. My daughter is a vegan and she found a dish that she said was just wonderful. I would recommend this to everybody who enjoys a peaceful delicious dinner

Food was actually good. Ordered the salmon which was flavorful. Service however, was sloooooooow.

Well the food wasn't bad that came out correct. I had a design your own burger and onion rings and we also had a pizza. Onion rings were so burnt and obviously should have never made it to the table. The manager removes the cost. The staff are busy but attentive but we sat close to the service door and don't see how they had time to wash their hands from handling everything including scratching themselves and back to serving, was really to quick to even get a 30 second wash in much less time to dry. We were here for an hour, nice and friendly though.

I have gone to the Sunday brunch several times and always enjoyed my visit. Unfortunately, this time I can not say I enjoyed the visit. This was a celebration for my friend's birthday...our Server was completely unprofessional...we were just starting our 1st plate when the Server interrupted our meal to ask what our room number was (we had told the Hostess upon entering that we had reservations and were not a guest at the hotel), she wanted to know how we were going to pay, she wanted to know if I was using a credit card, I told her I was paying cash in which case she made a disgruntled face...let's progress into our meal a little bit...the Server interrupted AGAIN, wanting to know if we wanted separate bills...we were relaxing, trying to enjoy our meal and you guessed it, the Server came AGAIN and parked the bill down. I feel she was completely rude, unprofessional and greatly lacking in good customer service.

What used to be an institution in the area is now no longer. I booked a reservation for Mother's Day on opentable and received a confirmation. I also got a call days before the meal to confirm the reservation. I picked up my disabled mother who does not live in the area and brought her to the restaurant expecting a wonderful meal. Instead, I was greeted at the door by a man who told us it was impossible that my reservation had been made or confirmed because the restaurant was closing at 1pm. That was indeed the time of the reservation. Perplexed, I asked to speak to the manager and he claimed to be the manager. He said he'd take care of us and proceeded to walk us to the hotel lobby bar. The hotel lobby bar for Mother's Day. Really? I scolded him and told him it was completely unacceptable and that we'd be leaving. He gave me a whole speech about how he didn't know what went wrong with the reservation system and that he'd look into it. He also made it seem as if this was the first time this had happened. He was lying to my face. When he walked away we were approached by 3 other families in the bar area - some having traveled from upstate New York - that had the exact same issue. None were offered any consolation for the inconvenience and at no time did the “manager” actually apologize. I recommend avoiding this establishment if this is the way they treat customers on Mother's Day of all days. Really disappointed in the service and not what I grew up knowing the Short Hills Hilton to be. Shameful.

Incredibly disappointed in what was once an institution in the area. I booked reservations and confirmed those reservations with The Dining Room for Mother's Day. I picked up my handicapped mother in the rain to celebrate, only to be told the restaurant was closing at the time we had reservations!! What was even more disgraceful was that the manager greeted us and brought us to the bar where he explained that he had no idea why the system would have made reservations if they were closing. He acted as though this was a very unique situation...until we met three other families who had the EXACT same issue...and we heard him give them the exact same lip service. We ended up leaving because we know the area and had a meal elsewhere, but I felt so bad for some of the other families that had traveled from out of state to celebrate Mother's Day. I was disappointed that they wouldn't accommodate anyone - offer them any sort of compensation for inconvenience - or even apologize!! It was shameful and embarrassing when I tried to do something nice for my mother. The manager should be ashamed of himself. This is not the standard that I grew up being exposed to at the Short Hills Hilton and I will NEVER go back.

Had dinner here and breakfast the next morning while on a weekend getaway! We were the only ones in the restaurant for an early dinner. Vanessa provided service with a smile and my water glass was always full with Vladimir on duty! Service was excellent! The food was top notch as well! Great presentation, quality ingredients, and excellent flavor! One of the best meals I've had in a while! At breakfast, Ana provided attentive service and Gary made killer omelettes! Actually the best omelette I've had from a buffet in a long time! Decent quality food, but the buffet itself was underwhelming! Lots of carbs and limited protein choices. For $30+ per person I felt it left to be desired. Overall, a good experience for both meals! Will definitely dine again when staying at the hotel!

If you are staying at the Short Hills Hilton, The Dining Room is a comfortable place to dine. The Open Table reservation site says "Hotel Parking-Parking is complimentary for all restaurant and hotel guests." We were staying at the Short Hills Hilton on the evening that we ate at the Dining Room, i.e., we were a hotel guest; however, the hotel said that the Open Table comment was on the third party site and we were charged the $10 overnight parking fee.
