Authentic Italian food, and FRESH! We went there with a couple of our kids for Easter lunch and were surprised to be seated within only a few minutes. Special menu was out of this world, and they had gluten free pasta options which was a phenomenal value-add. We aren't Italian in background, but one of the kids noted there were very many Italian American families there (probably 3/4 of the guests), so you know Luna Rossa is the real deal! The atmosphere of the restaurant was very elegant but not stuffy, decor was extremely tasteful and even on Easter it was fine if guests were in their Sunday Best or in a t-shirt and jeans. The waiter was excellent and all our items came out exactly as ordered and on time despite how busy it was. We'd heard from the waiter that the restaurant had expanded in the past few years, and the work they put in shows--would love to make it back for jazz and lounge music one weekend!

I highly recommend Luna Rossa. I've been there a few times with family and friends and always treated very well. The food is absolutely amazing. I recommend the chicken parm or seafood. They both are great choices. You can't go wrong with anything you decide to order. The price is well worth it. Check it out, you won't have regrets.

Went there with my wife for lunch, was not impressed. Ordered calamari for an appetizer and it was tough and chewy. Wife had soup that was in a small bowl that was only half full. My main course was shrimp and clams fridiablo. I got 3 shrimp and 6 tiny clams over a bed of linguine for $19.99! Won't be going back.

I was not going to write a review until something unprecedented occurred that has never occurred in my many years of restaurant experiences. I will be factual and no I am not a bot nor am I employed or own a local restaurant. In fact, in my 33 years residing in NJ this was my first time dinning here recently. Allow me to elaborate below. A very dear friend of our family had been trying months to get together with us and we finally all had the time recently. She wanted to treat all of us to what she considers one of her favorite local Italian restaurants. We were game and most appreciative. So, a reservation was made. As we drove into this establishments parking lot we noted a rather unpleasant looking valet attendee. We opted to park ourselves, where only a handful of non-reserved spaces are available. Fair enough. As we enter through the front room, which is a large bar, it looks pleasant enough, everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. The hostess was friendly, and the restaurant was large and airy. This is where the initial issues began. Several large rooms with plenty of empty tables available. And the staff sticks us literally in a doorway that was very active for the entire time dinning! Yes, we should have asked to be moved but we do not like to complain unless something drastic occurs, which it eventually did and to me specifically. As we were seated, I noticed this ridiculous upcharge sign stating they charge 3% extra due to rising operational costs!! In addition, they only desire cash payments or you are penalized for not utilizing cash. Modernity 101, no doubt. I was not paying but felt terrible for our family friend and offered to pay. She refused. The prices are over inflated compared to other local Italian restaurants and the food was very average. It was good food, but not worth the exurbanite prices. Our waiter was nice but reminded me of a used car dealer, which coincidently, this restaurant is located at the auto mall. He was attempting to upsell us on nearly every aspect of the meal and that was very classless. Unethical, in fact. As we sat and chatted, the restaurant became very busy with large parties bumping into our table at times, due to the ridiculous location in the doorway entrance that divides two different inner sections. I was enjoying a Peroni beer from Italy, which I am a longtime fan of and am very familiar with that product. I had not enjoyed a beer since the Christmas holidays, so this was a treat. As I am not a big drinker. I ordered a second Peroni and this is where I nearly lost my composure. I saw the waiter hide the beer label and pour out the beer, which was a red flag. Peroni bottles are usually green in color this was brown, and it turned out to be a local IPA brewer which I dislike immensely. My first sip I knew this was not a Peroni and was shocked that this prick waiter pulled a bait and switch on me. I was fit to be tied this was a first for me. Yes, I should have raised holy Hell but again, to reiterate, I was not paying. This was a get together that took months to get together and did not want to ruin it for my family and host. I left the beer alone. Finished our diner and the waiter tried his darndest to get us to order cordials, deserts, et al. We wanted no part of it and could not wait to leave. The bill was astronomical and the experience dreadful. A word to the wise, beware of my words, this restaurant is sus and unsavory. Oh yes, before I digress. We heard screaming from the bar area, apparently the owner was berating an employee in front of the crowded restaurant clientele! This establishment is a last century left over, back where it belongs. A genuine GTFOOH rating.

Let's just get to the summary ordered the chicken dinner prepared with a sherry shallot sauce with both sun-dried tomatoes and sliced mushrooms. Here's what showed up at the table boiled chicken, three pieces of sun-dried tomatoes 4 to 5 sliced mushrooms with some type of jar sauce on the top. Oh and $10 for less than a 5 ounce pour of wine can't understand the fascination with this place There is no ambience it's like eating at a diner .
