This place is a great secret. We generally go to Texas Road House. it was just too crowded. Drove around back and stumbled upon the Azteca. Fantastic Mexican restaurant. We will definitely be going back soon.

Okay, this is a one-off, but it was something I wanted to bring to light. I've eaten at Plaza Azteca before, and it wasn't bad. But a recent trip made sure I won't be going back.I went in for the Sizzling Steak Fajitas, and they were pretty good. But I couldn't eat them all, so I took them home, no harm no foul. But when I went to eat them after reheating, I felt something very hard and somewhat sharp in my mouth. At first I figured it was just a missed bit of bone...it was a piece of plastic, very hard, and while not razor sharp, had I bit into it a different way, it could have chewed up my gums pretty fast.I had a mom who worked in Food Service, and I'm a pretty lenient guy. So I ring up the restaurant to let them know, in case they get more complaints about that kind of thing that night. I said upfront that I wasn't looking for a free meal or anything like that. I just didn't want someone else to go biting into a piece of shatterproof plastic and get their jaw cut up. Now, the manager I spoke with, asked me to send him a picture of it, which I did with a quarter next to it to kind of demonstrate the size of the piece(I'll include the photo here). He was a stand-up guy, and said that the General Manager would be calling me in a few days.But this is where I can't go back to Plaza Azteca. Like I said, I'm a lenient guy, but I do believe if you SAY you're going to do something, you do it. It's been a week, and I've heard absolutely nothing from this General Manager. I don't know if I was just forgotten about or if he thinks I'm trying to scam a free meal...which would be difficult since I told the Manager on Duty that I didn't WANT a free meal.Even if it may have come from the nacho chips, since I took those home with me, I dread what would've happened if someone bit into a nacho with that on it, thinking it was just a slightly overcooked piece of tortilla.I was hoping to kind of write a happy ending to this, at least in my head. But after this, I won't be going to Plaza Azteca again. The one absolute rule in food service, is "Guests should never wonder what exactly they're eating." After last Saturday, I can't say that about Plaza Azteca anymore.

Initially, wanted to breeze through for some adult vibes the music was amazing, the aroma inviting ,I was starving and hoped for the best.. I ordered chicken and shrimp tacos w a perfect Maurgurita and honey Plaza Azteca did not disappoint. Perfect authentic Mexican flavor throughout, the atmosphere was family/ grown and sexy at the bar. I ran into an old friend with perfect timing along with a perfect meal. Yaaaas I highly recommend 5 stars.

We had the best night. I called ahead with only 2 days notice for a party of 40 ppl half of which were kids. The manager was beyond professional, the servers did not mix up one single order, were quick, and friendly, and the food was killer. We have loved this place for years(their chicken soup, no longer on the menu but you can still get it, is the best) but after tonight I will forever sing their praises. Oh and dont forget the drinky drinks. They definitely slapped.Kid-friendliness: Half our family party were kids and they were so cool!

So I go to restaurant often and I have worked in them as well I find it strange that when I told the manager that the simple dish I ordered which was a ground beef taco and burrito …I told the manager the beef tasted weird and instead of being nice and replace my dish (which I know it didn’t cost much it’s ground beef ) to something else… he gave me attitude told me the beef was fine and even smelled the beef in front of the table I felt like he though I was lying or something … I hope he reads this and when someone else complains about the food in the future he knows how to handle the situation better … server was great manager not so much….

This is the 5+ time I come to visit this place because its one of my dads favorite restaurants when he visits. Sadly this will be the last time. My 10yr old ordered a soft steak taco and a few minutes later, I was told that I wasn’t allowed to order one taco only and needed to get a full meal instead. I have no problem ordering food but if he is not going to eat it I shouldn’t feel obligated to do that. The manager came to the table and could have cared less and just suggested I order I side of steak with some tortillas. They refuse to make my child a simple taco. I feel extremely upset and the reason why I did not left if because it was late to eat and I didn't want to stress myself anymore for the kids needed to eat. Such a disappointment especially when there are apparent rules that are not published anywhere or known. Thanks for ruining our family dinner.

I contacted the restaurant and had a conversation with one of their staff members regarding making a reservation. Unfortunately, I was informed that they do not accept reservations over the phone and instead operate on a walk-in basis. Despite explaining that we had a party of 9 people, the staff member responded with a rude tone, stating that they do not accommodate reservations. They advised me to call 30 minutes prior to arriving at the restaurant. Following their instructions, I called back before heading out and was informed that the wait time would be 45 minutes. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the same rude staff member at the front informed us that the wait time for a party of 9 people would be 2 hours. When I explained that I had traveled from North Jersey, she dismissively responded that it was not her problem. I requested to speak to the manager, Julio, and explained the situation and how I had followed the given instructions, resulting in hours of waiting. Thankfully, Julio promptly provided us with a table for our party of 9 people within 15 minutes. I would like to express my gratitude to Julio for his exceptional service, as he truly deserves 5 stars. Thank you, Jay
