This place NEVER disappoints! We always order the same dishes.. we go in saying we’ll try something new and can’t bear to not get out favorites… duck fat fries, drunken clams on fire, truffled pork pizza. The drinks are always on point as well. It’s a very warm family friendly place. It feels like you’re in someone’s basement .. in a good way.

I don't like leaving bad reviews of local spots but I have had nothing but bad experiences here with the hostesses and I've give the restaurant 3 tries. The first time we went was last year for New Years Eve. We came to have dinner and had a dinner reservation at the Tapastre and the hostess had her back turned to us and would not turn around to acknowledge us. Thankfully a waitress came over to help us and got us seated. Then we went during the summer for their happy hour menu which they posted on Instagram and specifically asked for the happy hour menu but the hostess just said to pull it up on Instagram so we did and ordered food off of it. When the bill came, we were charged full price for all the items. When I asked the hostess why, we were told it's because Happy Hour ended at 6pm and even though we ordered all the food before 6pm, we didn't ask for the check till 6:15pm. So then we went yesterday since it was too cold to watch the parade. We tried going to Project Pub upstairs and there wasn't a hostess or waiter in the front so we waited a bit to see if anyone would come out but nobody did so we went to go to the bar. The hostess comes running over out of nowhere and just repeatedly says "The bar is downstairs, go downstairs." I was trying to ask for a table but she just kept saying to go downstairs. On our way out, we heard a couple of women at a table ask if they needed to leave and the hostess said "No you guys are good." The food here is really amazing and we live just a few blocks away so we were hoping to make this our go-to spot since we're new in town but it's terrible to have these types of interactions.

Great selection of beer for a small local restaurant. A lot of care and attention is given to the preparation of the food. The menu is simple and concise and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Service is good, as they have ample staff to cover the tables. The place holds less than 100 people (I think fire code said 80 but I am not sure if I am remembering that correctly) so reservations are a good idea on a Saturday Night.

I practically had to beg to order food, waited an hour, for it without any acknowledgment from the staff, and still no food arrived. They passed right by us without asking us how our drinks were or if we wanted another round. Drinks were terrible with a ton of ice. Would never go there again and would NOT recommend this dump to anyone.

Despite the menu shrinking considerably since Covid, the quality of the food and the warm attentive service still shines.Bartenders are lovely, even offering personalized suggestions when the situation might call for it.It is a social atmosphere, which is becoming less and less common.I only wish the bar were larger and they were open a bit later as they tend to be packed. (See above!)

3 stars seems fair. Food was alright. Service was excellent, although we were the only customers sitting at a table. A print out copy of the beer selection would be a better option than having to use your phone.
We've been going to Project PUB since it opened and have always enjoyed the vibe and beer selection. But recently have been most impressed by the cocktails and food and service. Last night the bartender at the upstairs bar riffed on a bourbon, basil, cardamom & orange cocktail that was fabulous. The beet salad with salmon was delicious and arrived to the table with a piping hot piece of fresh fish. My husband had the bulgogi bowl, which he was unsure about ordering at a pub, and said the steak was tender and delicious. This is our new favorite place in Somerville. Check it out!

I’ve been here several times for dinner over the past few years and also once for brunch, and always have had a great experience. They have a few outside tables but seating is primarily in the downstairs, which has more of a cocktail lounge feel to it. On that note they do have an extensive list of beers and cocktails. I started with the Opportunity Hunterdon Haze which was an easy to drink IPA with a deceptively high ABV. Highly recommend to anyone that likes hazy IPAs. I also copied my buddy and got the Back to school New Fashioned which the waitress described as a PBJ drink. I really enjoyed it but my friend thought it was too sweet.We started with the bacon shareable which was a no brainer. It was very tender and succulent, it seemed to melt in your mouth. We got the truffle pork pizza; their pizza is very unique as it’s incredibly thin as a result of using tortillas instead of dough. My friend and I enjoyed it.The beer Mac’n cheese was different but very good. It wasn’t overloaded with butter or cheese which was interesting.Lastly we got the short rib pot pie, which was a very hearty portion as it contained a lot of short rib. It was my friends least favorite but I enjoyed it.
