I LOVE THEIR ICE CREAM!!! I've tried smores, cookies and cream, cookie dough, hot cocoa, their ice cream sandwiches, and salted caramel pretzel. BUT... their customer service is a bit off which is not something I'd expect from a place like this. The guy with the short blonde hair and wears a mask brushed me off for the following customers as i was ready to pay when he clearly saw i was in line before them ahaha. Also, the she/they/him/he/mop/non binary person has this very indistinguishable attitude as if they/she/he thinks she is better than everybody. I'm not one to complain, i say what i experience.

This is one of the great ice cream places in America. They always have fresh and great-tasting ice cream. The staff is always friendly and effective. The place is always clean. They are good with kids and senior citizens. In short, I've been a customer for about 35 years and have never had a problem. You can't reasonably ask for more.

The ice cream here is decent, although I've experienced better elsewhere. The crowded atmosphere suggests a strong sense of loyalty, likely passed down through generations. However, I found the staff to be somewhat lacking in friendliness.

Decent, but I've been to better ice cream parlors. When we went (Labor Day 2023), the line was long. The problem is when you get to the long counter with all the various flavors, you might have given your order before seeing all the flavors. It would be great if they had an electronic display that rotated through all flavors, perhaps with pictures and descriptions. That way you could have narrowed down your choice by the time you get to the counter. This in turn could help the line move faster. The service itself was good, the quality of the ice cream decent and the prices reasonable.

After a day at the beach, Hoffman's has always been a must stop! An absolute top ice cream shop in NJ. This time I went with the Jersey Monkey! Definitely did not disappoint.

Went after dinner at a boardwalk restaurant in Avalon on corner of Church and Rte 71. Large ice cream parlor with large range of ice cream options. All three choices my group got were excellent. Child size (1 scoop) is probably sufficient for most, but 2 scoops is only $1 more and is really large. (Three scoops is an option only for the hungriest of people and only for those more capable of eating more than they should.)
I came to this ice cream parlor with a few of my friends on a Saturday night in September. There was a small parking lot, and it was a busy place. The staff was friendly, there was a bathroom inside of the ice cream parlor, and there were many flavors available. I got an ice cream waffle cone with the flavor of chocolate chip cookie dough. I really enjoyed my dessert. I thought that the prices were somewhat higher than I expected, but I enjoyed my treat.

Me and my sister were in town for a wedding and wanted to try one of the ice cream places in Spring Lake. The first ice cream shop we stop at was closed and although we were disappointed we soon found out that there's definitely a reason for everything! We went to Hoffman's not knowing what to expect and were blown away but the many options of homemade ice cream. I'm a huge fan of homemade ice cream (or anything for that matter!) so I knew I was in for a treat! I chose to get a sundae with Coffee Oreo ice cream. I was very, very pleased with this decision! The ice cream so creamy and the coffee Oreo combo was oh so perfect. I need to venture out here more often! Great thing is they have multiple locations. The service was super attentive and friendly. I am grateful that first shop was closed because it lead us to Hoffmans. *Bonus* they sell ice cream cakes and they also have Vegan ice cream options!
