Mud city never disappoints! As someone who truly appreciate fresh seafood at a good price, there is no better option in southern ocean county then here. Have been coming for over a decade and will continue for many more.

We stopped in after hearing that they were now officially open for the season. Altogether it wasn’t a bad experience I don’t think that they were at full season form with some of the seafood items. Fried Calamare was overcooked and chewy, the pieces were also on the small side, New England clam chowder was okay, but lacking flavor and a little light on the clams, nothing special, especially around here with so much chowder competition. The star appetizer and best part of the meal were the raw oysters, which were very fresh, chilled and exquisite tasting. We also had a couple of different varieties of their crab cakes which were OK but just ordinary. For dinner we had fried clams, which were on the small side and lacking plumpness and flavor, a stuffed flounder was completely flavorless, the grouper was just ordinary and the mussels sauteed in olive oil and garlic were a disappointment, the star of the dinner meals was the broiled seafood platter which was nicely grilled, fresh and tasty. The place was quite busy when we were there but service was friendly and efficient, we loved the outdoor bar truck. We look forward to coming back once they get their sea legs in order.

Classic shore seafood place.Extensive menu with lots of choices. Everyone @ the table loved their entrees, including grilled and fried seafood platter, shrimp skewers and crab cakes. Oysters on the half shell were fresh and delicious! Would highly recommend! White sangria was a fave!
Best crab cakes in NJ. Always good across the board. Great for takeout too.

Definitely one of the top restaurants in Manahawkin/LBI area. My pasta dish was amazing, and service was great. Only downside to this place is it’s not huge and they don’t take reservations. We lucked out and got a front parking spot and table fairly quick. They also have a cool little outside area with a drink truck and a fire pit. This makes the waiting part a lot more bearable (keep in mind we only waited about 15-20 mins anyway). Overall, great experience. Certainly a spot you should try this summer if you’ve never been.

Amazing blue claws and they now serve alcohol. It's a local favorite and a treasure of the Jersey shore. Recommend trying at least once. Be warned you will be hooked. They added fire pits outsides if you have to wait. And the inside nautical design has been consistent for at least 20 years. A true gem with local fresh seafood.
