Have come several times for tea. The pink umbrella room is magical and my favorite for dates with my daughter. Had a fundraiser here for my no -profit everyone was very professional and helpful. Mother’s Day party with all the woman in my family and they all loved every minute. Food delish decor on point 10/10

My daughter and I have made it a yearly tradition to have Holiday Tea together at The Mathis House. Vicki and her staff are wonderful and the food is delicious. They always take extra precaution and accommodate for my allergies. I highly recommend the Happy Hanukah tea! It’s our fave.

My husband and I had a lovely tea. The teas were excellent. The soup, and salad very good. We each enjoyed 4 sandwiches and several lovely sweet desserts. I have dinged them one star for the "clotted cream" which was slightly sweeted cream cheese. Very weird when expecting clotted cream which is my favorite part of tea.

This is such a great place! If you have the opportunity, please do yourself a favor and stay at Mathis House. I was coming to Tom's River to visit a friend, and when I saw Mathis House advertised (and the excellent reviews), I booked a room. My hopes were far exceeded by the amazing beauty of Mathis House, the kindness of the Innkeepers, the professional level of the service, and last but not least, the really wonderful tea and scones, as well as the breakfast (that was spectacularly good).I am hoping to come back to stay here again, and I have already been telling friends near and far that they should stay too. I was here in January with the gorgeous Christmas decorations, but now I want to come back in the summer to see Mathis House in another season and visit the nearby Jersey Shore.I also especially enjoyed bringing home many small bags of various delicious teas and a handmade quilted tea cozy I bought in the gift shop. Although I was sad to leave Mathis House, bringing the tea and cozy home with me means I'm still delighting in their hospitality!
We had a company meeting and they booked us there for an overnight. From checkin to checkout, it could not have been better. Vicki and her husband were great. Come humgry for vreakfast because they gave us a beautiful spread.

We had such an amazing time at the afternoon tea we attended. The rooms were beautifully decorated, and the Christmas decorations were so elegant. Our server Peggy, was so sweet and attentive. The food was delightful, my picky son even enjoyed the food. I've never seen him so willing to try so many new foods in one meal before. This was our first time at the Mathis house and he's already begging to go again.

The tea service and food always exceeds our expectations—and the loose tea to bring home is a MUST along with their homemade soups and scones. Our most recent trip was for their Christmas tea—we go every year as a tradition!

A little disappointed in our tea this time. The baked potato soup tasted like awful- very runny, tasteless and under seasoned - almost like dishwater. We were extremely disappointed this year as champagne was usually offered in the past and this time, nothing… even charging the same price. When asked after our tea had concluded we were told that they still offer but it is only on request. Why wasn’t this disclosed in the beginning? We would have loved a glass, especially if laying for it already. Food and service were better last year. Had to ask for water during middle of the tea as none was offered in the beginning. Beautiful house and beautiful rooms though. We were overly disappointed in our annual girls tea this year .
