Jeez. I can't express how deeply i think you should stay away from this place.I'd been there once or twice to grab a bagel. They were okay.Most recently, i dropped by to pick up some bagels on the way to my parents house. While on line, there was a woman in front of me who had ordered a breakfast sandwich. She asked the people behind the counter about the amount of egg she had on her sandwich. She wasn't being mean or rude. She just thought it was a lot less than was expected, or something of the like.They called the owner (Eli) to come speak to her.Eli walks out, angry as hell. He grabs the sandwich. Throws it open, points at the egg (which did seem pretty meager) and yells at her 'THERE IS EGG! YOU ARE A LIAR!"At that point, this douche grabs the sandwich, slams it into the garbage. Then he opens the register, grabs some bills out of the till and literally THROWS IT at this poor woman. Then walks away.I truly can't express how inappropriate this was. From what i saw, this woman was not being rude or angry in any way. This owner was out of his mind.So. At this point, everybody in the store is looking at each other uncomfortably. I decided to leave and drive a couple miles to another bagel shop.I told my parents about it when i got to them. They said they stopped going there because they'd seen the owner be rude to people multiple times. So this is not an isolated case.I feel bad for this guys family. If this is how he treats strangers...customers...in public, i can't even imagine how poorly he treats his family behind closed doors. Unchecked anger issues. Really horrible experience.

Eli’s once had the best bagels around. My last two egg sandwich’s were puny and the rolls were stale. Yesterday I got bagels and they were not fresh. I will not be going back.

Eli's is just hit or miss. The bagels are fine but their egg sandwiches not so much. No Taylor ham - only do one egg. We were spoiled back in Bloomfield and Eli's just isn't up to the standard we are used too. Service is inconsistent.

Another day, another bagel shop. Quick review. I honestly hate issuing negative reviews on small businesses. But.... These are particularly lousy bagels. Very doughy and undercooked. Ordered mine with "fresh" lox which wasn't all that fresh. Had a strong refrigerator taste. On a positive note the coffee was delicious. One star for the bagel and lox. Four stars for the coffee.

If I could give zero stars I would!!I saw the reviews about the owner and I still decided to give this place a try and man were they rightFirst off they shorted me on change by $1. I let it go because I figured the owners a dick just to avoid it. So I did. I ordered the lil Jackie which was supposed to be bacon egg whites cheese and hash browns. And my husband ordered the big boy Taylor ham eggs cheddar hash browns with chipotle mayo.... What we got was egg whites Taylor ham cheese and hasbrowns with the chipotle mayo and then the other was SAUSAGE eggs cheese hash browns. The owner at first refuseddddd to say he messed up then finally agreed he did. I stated I we can't eat sausage so we would have never ordered a sandwich with sausage and he goes oh but you can eat bacon yeah okay... which I replied it doesn't matter why I can't eat sausage verses what I can eat. I just want to be refunded. I paid with cash because of a previous yelp review and I asked how I'm going to get refunded he said he'd need the sandwich in order to refund me I said well I'm not coming back now and he goes okay when you come back bring the sandwich ... so you're telling me instead of making things right you rather make the customer wait when you Fu**ed up and not refund them?!???!!!!!!!! My husband didn't like how I was spoken to and went to bring the sandwich back. The owner of course left for the day magically after our call. If that's not a little scmofo idk what is. The owner has no respect for his business, his customers and clearly women. This owner needs to go to therapy or rehab to learn how to be a decent human being and run a business. I came here because when it was across the street my family used to go and I just moved to the area and thought I'd like to go too since they used to all love it. It is definitely not the same as it used to be.

I used to go here when it was across the street... we haven't been since they moved.. went on Sunday around noon my husband and i were 2 out of the 3 people in there. The kid at the counter was SUPER nice.... but the owner is a complete jerk.the OWNER made our sandwiches wrong, we didn't realize till after we got home. we ordered one sand with bacon the other with taylor ham. We got one with sausage and one with taylor ham but the taylor ham was on the bagel that the bacon should of been on. So I did what anyone would do... call the shop to let them know and see how to get a refund as we don't eat sausage.. well the owner picked up and boy was he not happy I called.He went off and was defensive at first saying no way the order was wrong so i said well I would say maybe we got someone else's order but we were really the only people in there as the person before us left before our order was ready. Finally he admits he may have made the sandwich wrong but then made a comment saying you cant eat sausage but you can eat bacon and taylor ham.... Not sure why what I can and cannot eat matters to him and why he would say it like that.. I can't help but think he was being judgey about religious beliefs but my reasoning for not eating sausage is none of his business nor should it have mattered.He refused to give me a refund unless I would bring the bagel back to then I was like okay that's fine ill come back next week with the bagel which I don't think he liked that answer because I'm pretty sure he wanted the sandwich back so he could reuse or sell it.... NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My husband ended up going back because he couldn't believe how I was spoken to and guess what... the owner left for the day SHOCKER!!!! He seems to be all talk but when someone shows up to confront him he runs away like a little baby. This owner needs to let his staff take control of the business and walk away as he's doing more damage to his shop himself than any of his employees.The employees were super nice to my husband when he came back and they were understanding of why we were upset and how the food was wrong.As for the OWNER if you're reading this GO TO THERAPY! you have a lot of issues to work on as your reviews are all complaints about you. You should be more appreciative of the staff you do have because idk how or why they would ever put up with you and your nasty attitude.

I walked into this establishment for the first and last time in my life. It was the most horrible, insulting and harassing experience. I ordered a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese only. Three gentlemen walked in behind me. The owner (the male in the pictures from yelp) helped two of the gentleman first and they were on their way. when he turns to me and asks what I else I want I let him know the bagel was all I wanted. I go to give him my payment via card or Apple Pay. He tells me they don't do charge because there is a $10 minimum. I look around bewildered because there is usually a sign up indicating this, there was nothing. I look at him and tell him I didn't know and he didn't let me know. he goes on to indicate it is "common sense to ask." I state he should put it up for customers to know. I go to walk out because I have no cash. He asks if I don't want it and I explain I don't have cash (who carries cash nowadays?) and tell him he was being rude because he kept arguing with me. He proceeds to berate and curse at me "you f***ing st**** b****! get the f*** out!..." and throw me out. mind you I was already trying to leave for a minute now but what got me the most that he was acting aggressive like he was going to come out of from behind the counter to get me out (I seriously felt in every inch of my body this man wanted to hurt me). I did tell him when I left "wow! you are a horrible person." This man's behavior/demeanor is abusive at best and borderline violent. He is in the wrong business if he can not handle being asked questions or any constructive criticism. If I were able to give it zero stars I would. terrible terrible terrible.

Wanted to give them a try again since they moved to a new spot across the street. Absolute garbage. I’m not usually inclined to ever post anything for a review, but when there is no effort by the owner to put a quality product out and also selling things that are expired, I’m going to say something.Bagels tasted like they were made two-three days ago. Taylor ham was way over done. Got a bagel with lox, one slice of lox on each side of the bagel, and I was sold an expired drink from 9/23/2022 and it’s now 6/26/2023.Never, ever, go here.
