Drive by this place all the time but thought to go in For a quick dinner with some friends. As soon as we got in we were pretty much seated and the spot really reminds me of Soulfood places down in the south where it's really about the food and you feel like you're in your family members kitchen. We pretty much all had the three piece dark meat fried chicken But we all so tried a bunch of the sides like the collard greens, candied yams, mac & cheese and cornbread. Special shadow to mark for making our dinner very personable. Highly recommend this place if you're trying to have some authentic soul food and also recommend getting an uptown (which is half lemonade half tea) with your meal. Will definitely be going back next time I have a craving for some soul food. This place also offers BYOB with a bottle opening fee if you would like to drink with your meal.

I ordered a fried whiting dinner with potato salad and candied yams. The whitings taste like they were fried in old grease and the potato salad was awful. I was NOT impressed!

Food is delicious. Good and consistent soul food is so difficult to find these days. Everyone there is very professional. Jhone is so nice and have a great personality. A great addition to this neighborhood

Wow! Let's just start with that. Everything we had was delicious. My husband had the fried catfish with rice and beans and Lima beans. There was nothing left on the plate. My mother-in-law had fried chicken, Mac n cheese and collard greens. All excellent. And I had the fried whiting with French fries. It made me oh so happy! The staff is super helpful and nice. Please come check this place out. You will not be disappointed. I wish I could have uploaded a pic, but we devoured it before I could.

Finally made it to The Soul Factory in Union the other night and all i can say is WOW! Probably some of the best food I have had in a long time. It's hard to single out anything but I'll start with the macaroni and cheese. Definitely not my mother's mac a cheese (sorry Mom). It was flavorful, very well-seasoned and the perfect consistency. I had the fried shrimp dinner and it to was perfectly seasoned, cooked and the portion was more than enough. The corn bread needs no introduction; just try it! It took this place a while to open but it was well worth the wait. Can't wait to go back to try everything on the menu. You have to try it out? And oh, yeah Cat rocks! Love her.

Was looking for a good meat and two vegetables place and this place hit the spot. The mac and cheese, collards, and fried chicken were very good. My husband enjoyed his chicken, black eyed peas and yams. Definitely worth the trip and another visit.

Food was great! Loved the catfish nuggets. Owner was really friendly and accommodating. We ate so much we didn't have room to try desert. Will definitely go back.

I ordered food from the soul food factory I had collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and fried catfish. The food was okay fish a little salty but fried very well and crispy not enough cheese in the macaroni and cheese and I decided to order dessert I ordered peach cobbler the peach cobbler did not look freshly baked I taste a half a teaspoon of it and it was sweet but it was soggy it looked like it had been in that container for one week or more it was soggy it just looked disgusting and I did not eat it and the guy asked me why I didn't want to take it with me I told him because I just didn't want it but he assists why I won't take it as good and I told him because it was soggy and it looked nasty and I would never order from there again.

My husband and I are very new to the area and decided to try The Soul Food Factory and oh my lord we are so glad that we did! That food was ohhhhhhh so good! The first thing I tried was the Mac n cheese because we all know that everyone can’t make Mac n cheese correctly lol. They are 100% APPROVED! from the Mac to the yams to the corn bread and those fall off the bone turkey wings …whewww yes we sure shall be going back!

I love this soul food restaurant and will look no further. It’s my 2nd time eating here and the food is amazing. The cook/owner John is such a sweet heart. I struggle with emotional illness and were having a moment today. John took the time to talk to me, offered me some wine and made me feel so optimistic and ready to tackle life. He had no idea how much better he made me feel. I did a root canal yesterday and expressed to John I had not eaten all day. He cooked my fish platter soft as he promised and I was able to finally eat. I wish John and his business the best of luck. Please support this black owned business!

If you want soul food, look no further. Each time I need my soul food fix I ask my husband to order from here. Food is reasonably priced. I love the catfish, mac\\u0026cheese and the calabash which is a cabbage/collard green mix (so yummy). My husband loves their oxtails with rice and cabbage. The corn bread is always perfect! The staff is friendly and management is great. They’re a family owned business and I wish they had more locations in the tri-state area but they provide catering so if you’re having an event soon, I’d definitely give them a call. I can’t wait until they reopen for indoor dining. They’re only providing takeout for now.
