Restaurant is closed due to fire yet is accepting online orders. My credit card was charged but the place is closed.

Just like the previous review, I placed an order online but when I went to pick it up the place was closed. I asked the store neighbor and they said the place has been closed for weeks. I got a hold of them after multiple calls and massages. They said to call their credit card processing system to ask for a refund but didn't give me further information. I ended up disputing the charge through my bank. I am hoping to get my money back.

This is bad, I ate here once before and it was pretty good. This time I order Uber eats, not knowing they were about to close. Sadly the food was cold, falafel was either dry like it was old, with some pieces burnt. So dissatisfied and disappointed.

The staff was very nice! The Juice was delicious, the salad was tasty and refreshing but the best part was the chicken Shawarma bowl with pita chips and rice! It was amazing! The spices and sauce was incredible! I left full and happy! Highly recommend this fine restaurant

The food at Porto Falafel is excellent! If you’re looking for good Middle Eastern food in the Maplewood/Millburn area, definitely try this place.I had the falafel sandwich and it was delicious! The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, especially the falafel. I also had a lentil soup, and the soup was ON POINT - delicious and not spicy! I also had hummus & pita. These were also delicious and fresh.I read some of the reviews before deciding to try Porto Falafel, and I don’t know what the negative reviews are all about. The prices are definitely NOT expensive. They’re on par with most Middle Eastern places, and the food is VASTLY SUPERIOR to a place like halal guys.Porto Falafel is in the Millburn Village shopping plaza, in the corner just past the Subway and the convenience store. It IS difficult to find, because there are no signs on the building above the restaurant, so use your gps if necessary. It looks like a family-run place, and the decor inside is simple. But did I mention the food is DELICIOUS??? So if you’re looking for a fancy decor and ambiance for a dine-in experience, you’d be better off with a takeout order, and then just bring it home and light a candle. It’s definitely worth a try.Vegetarian options: Middle Eastern food with a lot of salads, and vegetarian & vegan options.Parking: Plenty of parking

I have been ordering food from this restaurant over a year, and I never complained about anything before, but today, the service quality is low. The container was 1/2 empty. Well, they just lost a loyal customer

Are you looking for authentic? Look no further. I had gotten to a point where I decided falafels weren’t for me. UNTIL TODAY!! The falafels I had here were crispy hot and delicious even the sauce they provided was delectable. The moussaka was to die for and I also ordered a mixed shawarma platter also very very tasty. Would highly recommend this place 1. For authenticity and 2. Flavors are on point. They also brought the food out very fast. How could I forget about their spicy hummus ? sooo good please come down and try and don’t just take my word for it.

I have ordered few times from this place and all the times were disappointing. From falafel to different shawarma. The lamb was tough chewy, falafel was bland.. etc The area needs good Egyptian food

This place doesn’t even deserve a star. How about a negative star? There are many reasons for this rating. We were overcharged. Plus the food was lousy! The meat was not cooked and pink inside. We ordered a mix and got a very small potion and 1 piece of pita bread and less than a quarter portion of salad. What. a ripoff! The food also had no flavor. We also notice a charge on the bill and when questioned we were told it was due to the prices going up on all their items….if that’s the case why was it listed as a separate charge? Again big ripoff! We will never go back. We went in the past years ago and never had such a bad experience. They lost another customer . Do not waste your money or time. Go to another place for Egyptian food.

Overpriced. The menu prices are wrong and can be up to double what it really is. FRAUD. The food is certainly not worth the bait and switch pricing. For example they may list fries as $3 but charge you $5. They may list sandwich at $7 but actually charge you $10. The entrees can be up to 6 dollars more than what they will actually charge you. Correct your menus or weights and measures may pay you a visit.

I had bad experiences with this restaurant, 1st experience I had oreder online and when I went to pick up my order I found part of my order picked up by another customer and I had to waited 20 min more . 2nd experience in Ramadan and I was fast I ordered mixed grill with add on of chicken shawarma and flafal and when I open my order at the breakfast time in home I discovered no add on at all and I so upset because I can’t do nothing . My advice anyone order anything you should open your order verify if all set .

Stopped by for a quick lunch and ordered using their QR code but it didn’t work. Lady with the baby gave me the flyer menu and said prices are not updated. Falafel is burnt and lamb swarma is tough. It’s expensive for what is. Not coming back.

This place is run by the owner, Chef Hany. He is doing an amazing job in the kitchen, but he will also come and check on you at your table to make sure you are satisfied. I used to go to their other restaurant in Livingston, which was also run by the family and had the best Egyptian food. Parking is available and free. The place decor is simple but nice. Price is reasonable and fits was great. I hope when I go back, they will have my stuffed pita falafel sandwich. I recommend this place and will definitely go back.

I ordered the taboulli salad. I used to order it all the time and it was lush with parsley and mint. Now it’s a onion and unripened tomato salad. Very disappointing… and Inedible.

I had a long lunch break and decided to try this place on a whim. My food was amazing! It wasn't spicy, it had tons of flavor!! I was waiting outside after I ordered and the gentleman brought my food to me. I would have given 5 stars but the place didn't look like they are keeping it tidy for dine in and the receptionist was apparently upset at whoever she was speaking with on the phone. As a new customer, I would think she would have the curiosity of hanging up to attend to a customer who walks in to order, instead she waited 5 minutes to finish yelling at whoever she was speaking with.
