Food was fantastic! Had the soul food bowl over their Mac and cheese and it was great! Definitely a take out spot though, so call ahead.

I drove to this place yesterday. There was noone in the front, except for the chef. He took my order and told me that the wait would be about 15 minutes. He told me that I can pull up my car and he would bring my food out. A young lady bought my food to the car. I ordered fried whiting, mac & cheese and potato salad totaling$17.00. I must sat that the potato salad was amazing. The mac & cheese was good but I didn't like the fish. Not that it was nasty, im just used to eating catfish. I would definitely recommend this place. You get good food for a reasonable price.

Small but banging place to eat. Prices were low, portions were large, and service was very accommodating.

Love the food it’s fresh, quality, and they give nice portions, BUT THEY ARE NEVER OPEN!!! If you can’t hold up the restaurant to your business hours, CHANGE THEM!!

I have to admit, I was very intimidated by the looks of the restaurant. I know that I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, BUT you should always go with your gut instinct. we pulled into a parking spot, and right as we got out, a guy came out and gave us menus. We couldn’t go inside, and he asked us to call in and the food will come out. we did as asked, and we waited over and hour to get our food. My Pork sandwich was good, but I don’t think ill get it again. The cornbread was excellent and so was the mac and cheese. The price was reasonable. I do recommend trying it.?

Amazing food. The BBQ was on point, and the portion was very generous. Loved everything I tried, BBQ pulled pork, potato salad, and the greens were off the hook. Can't wait to go back.

Friend raved about this place. After reviewing taste buds online, we were excited to give it a try! We drove 35 minutes to get there expecting we would be having a sit down dinner. As we exited our vehicle we were approached by a friendly employee with menus. Then told the restaurant is take out only, That they closed the sitting area. We were told that we needed to call in our order. (Wish this was stated online..) Anyways, we called and watched them through the window taking our order.. was told the food would be ready in 30 minutes. So we sat in the parking lot waiting as we were not familiar with the area. We watched others come, order, and get food. An hour later.. still waiting for ours. 20 minutes later... after watching the employees vacuum the restaurant and prepare to Close... here comes our food. Food was as expected for take out. It's never as good as eating fresh in restaurant. The best way to describe the food is by saying, it was just food I ate. We got chicken and waffles (chicken was not crispy but was flavorful and waffle was soggy of course), pulled pork (not the greatest.. through out most of it), BBQ chicken with collard greens and potatoes salad (the potatoes salad was the best). One other thing add is that you get a ton of food for the price. Sadly though the next time I'm in the area, I don't think I will be trying again.

Husband and I went for dinner on a Thursday evening. My husband got the Garlic Parm Saucy Shrimp with mac n cheese, and I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork with mac n cheese and collards. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. My husband LOVED!! the shrimp. But that Mac n Cheese is HANDS DOWN some of the best I have had!!! The BBQ pulled pork could have used a bit more sauciness but tasted great. Wonder service, staff was friendly and attentive. My 4 stars comes down to the collards. I found them to be under flavored. I prefer my collards cooked with smoked ham hock, these are cook with smoked turkey.Over all, definitely would recommend Taste Buds.

We were looking for popular local food places to try (things we don't usually get back home) and I'm glad we chose Taste Buds! I had BBQ Chicken with candied yams and sautéed spinach. My husband had the BBQ chicken mac and cheese bowl. We also tried a little of the BBQ pulled pork fries. IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS! Best soul food we have EVER had. If we were local, we would definitely frequent this place!

I ordered Whiting Fish, yams, and greens. Fish had a burnt taste due to old grease, yams was horrible and more like mashed potato yams, taste was so bad I couldn’t even eat them. Collards greens were bland. I will never go back there. The guy with the braids or dreads was not to friendly he act like he had an attitude. I definitely wasted my money.
