Best bakery ever, I drive 1 & 1/2 hrs each way to get these cakes. White chocolate chip cake is top notch

Overall, I like love their white cream filled cake with choc chips. That was the one I typically had purchased for over the last 10 or so years, but for the first time I opted to do a few different things around the holiday and I’ll be honest I was not really impressed with their cookies, but I continued trying different things. I purchased a strawberry shortcake (or what I thought was a strawberry shortcake) for Easter only to find that when I got it home and I cut into it, it was not filled with strawberries and whipped cream (what you would normally find in a strawberry short cake), but rather a layer of custard, and a layer of whipped cream and a strawberry preserve or a glaze, which was very sweet. The cake had one real strawberry on top of the cake (which I also expected to be in the cake layers - which it was not). The taste was not authentic like a strawberry shortcake and honestly it tasted like it was canned preserves and something was definitely off on the whipped cream (thinking the strawberry preserved distorted the flavor). I was displeased based on the quality of taste and the price I paid. I ended up throwing most of it out. I will say that I will not be purchasing anymore more from them other than the cream filled cake with chocolate chips. When you’re good at something you stick to it, but don’t mess with traditional favorites. I think McMillans offers a far more traditional strawberry shortcake and it’s amazing.

I recently purchased what I thought was a strawberry shortcake from sweets eats only to find that it was more vanilla cake with custard and strawberry preserves. The only real strawberry was one that sat on top of the cake when I purchased it, but I requested a strawberry shortcake and that's what I was given. Perhaps they're not familiar with the traditional strawberry shortcake. I was not only disappointed in the fact that there were no strawberries in the layer of the cake, but it much sweeter with their strawberry filling or preserves and affected the whip cream because it had a definite different taste. Disappointed perhaps they shouldn't advertise it as a strawberry shortcake when in fact, it's some kind of a strawberry filling custard cake.

I have always been a loyal customer of Sweet Eats bakery for their specialty cakes. Their store is always well-stocked and the cakes are absolutely delicious.About a month ago, I placed an order for two birthday cakes for my daughter's first birthday. I visited the store in person to customize the cakes, and the ordering process was incredibly easy. I had reference pictures to ensure the cakes turned out exactly as I envisioned. For the first cake, I wanted it to resemble the reference picture, except for the shade of green for the fondant dots. And for the second cake, I requested to exclude the candy topping shown in the reference picture. I was informed that the cake had to include the candy topping, which was not a major issue for me.On the day of the party, my sister picked up the cakes around 11 am. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain that day and the entire town was flooded. To my disappointment, the cakes didn't look as expected and would have required complete refrosting to be presentable. However, due to time constraints, we had to make do with what we had for the party.Despite my specific instructions, both cakes appeared unfinished with a messy border at the bottom that was not part of our agreement. The candy topping on one of the cakes was excessively thick, bumpy, and uneven, which affected the overall presentation. Furthermore, the all-white cake had a poor appearance, giving the impression that it was hastily made. It is evident that the cake decorator lacked attention to detail and appeared to have limited experience in cake decorating.I personally reached out to Sweet Eats to express my disappointment with both cakes. I spoke with Bridget, who seemed friendly but didn't show much concern about my dissatisfaction. She had a side conversation with another employee, who said “Oh well, that’s why we have a sign that says to check your order before leaving the store.”Throughout our conversation, I remained polite and simply wanted to express my dissatisfaction without requesting a refund or compensation. Bridget requested that I email the reference pictures and images of the cakes I received, which I promptly did on the same day. However, I have not received any follow-up from Sweet Eats since then.Considering Sweet Eats' reputation and premium pricing for custom cakes, I expected them to show some level of concern or empathy towards my experience. Unfortunately, their response fell short of my expectations. As a result, I have decided not to return to Sweet Eats bakery, and I would advise others in need of custom cakes to explore other options.

This is the first of 2 purchases: I am from Mexico, where the dessert taste more like the essence of what that are made. My first dessert at Sweet Eat Bakery was choco chips cookies and a puff pastry with dark chocolate on top and 2 differents feelings …. I was able to feel the essence of the real flavors!!! Was a fantastic experience. Since a moved here every dessert taste a little bit of sugar,ñ (in other places ) no bad but if I get carrot cake, well, I expect some carrot flavor or the icing with a little cheese flavor. Anyway: my puff and cookies here was the best experience. Tomorrow we will try my birthday cake ? and I will let you know how is. Gracias

My experience so far with this business overall has been a good experience, they are attentive and offer amazing tasteful cakes. My only feedback as to why the service is rated as 1 star is because I've previously placed an online order back in February and requested a phone call to discuss special requests and that I did not mind paying extra if needed, a guy calls me the next day and he confirmed how I wanted the cake and he advised me that it would be an extra $20 or so for a total of $60+ for my order which I was fine with paying. I was satisfied how my order came out and the experience I had with them the first time so I decided to place another order this week, they are closed on Mondays and the order had to be placed in time to receive it by Friday (today), so again I went online and placed the order and added in the notes how I wanted the cake and to call me with any questions and that I did not mind paying extra (again). No one calls me this time around so I call them yesterday to just confirm that they did receive my requests and if I needed to pay anything extra I would. The girl who answers puts me on a 10 minute hold and then the "manager" picks up and asks again "how can I help you" I advised her that another person was already looking into what I was calling about and that I've been on hold for a while and she apologized stating that they have a long line of customers but that she could help me now. So I re-explained myself to her and she goes back to check on my order with the bakers, she comes back on the line and explains to me that they did receive my requests and her exact words were " they said its fine this time but next time you need to call in over the phone for any special requests" I replied and said to her that I was not aware of that especially since my previous online order was handled perfectly fine I even mentioned to her my previous order with them and how the guy called me and I paid extra over the phone. No where in our conversation did she ever mention to me that I would have to pay anything extra for my request this time. I send my friend to pick the cake up today and they tell her I owe $8.00. I actually have to laugh because the manager I spoke to yesterday is the one giving my friend the cake order. My friend calls me and I get on the phone with the manager and I reminded her of the conversation we had yesterday letting her know there was no mention of having to pay extra. Her excuse was that they were still working on my order yesterday and were not sure how much extra they would need to charge me so that's why she didn't say anything? Umm, so you didn't think you should've AT LEAST told me that I would indeed have to pay something extra but that you weren't sure how much yet.. I would have been fine with that response and would've sent my friend with an extra $30 to cover any extra fees. But now I have my friend at the counter wondering why she has to pay an extra $8.00. And with me its never about the dollar amount honestly because I've previously paid an extra $20 and it didn't bother me. Its the fact that you messed up as the "manager" and decided to still charge me the $8.00. Its the principal not what happened that bothers me here because I am always considerate of small owned businesses and I do understand that you need to pay extra for extra services so I do understand them on their end but I guess the manager just did not care or was not mindful of me as the customer and my experience with her and her small miscommunication. Anyways... I may or may not order from them again but it did frustrate me that there was not any clear communication with my order this time.

Justin nailed this cake. It was everything we were hoping for and more. He took the time to listen to the them and really knocked it out of the park. Not to mention cake itself was 10/10 in freshness and taste! So adorable too. Thanks

My first time coming here was overwhelming, because the line was out the door, but it moved very quickly. There were multiple staff members and everyone was super organized. The cupcake was delicious! It was worth the 40 minute drive.

I have never dealt with such poor customer service in trying to purchase a cake before. Sweet Eats has been a staple of mine for 10+ years but the way my family and I were treated today when trying to design a cake was unacceptable, we felt unwanted and unwelcome. Luckily Sunflower Bakeshop was able to give my family the service we deserved.

Sweet eats prepared 4 cakes for our wedding reception and absolutely all of them were delicious. We were able to order online and coordinate a friend picking up the cakes easily. We really appreciated how great it was to work with Sweet Eats Bakery, and the cakes are fantastic.

My family ordered a cake for a wedding shower and didn’t state their bakery would be closed. No phone call, nothing. Thanks a lot for making us scramble to find a cake last minute.
