Staff congregated round the counter the entire time. Strange vibe, food wasn't good. Won't go back

Dismal. The staff was milling around jabber jawing up front around the cashier area the whole time we were there. Didn't present the atmosphere of being in a professional establishment. When we came in to sit down, we passed right in front of the person who turned out to be our server. Although she wasn't busy with another customer, because we were two of three there at the time, it took her another 5 minutes to finish conversing and come to give us menus and see what we needed. When we finally got our food, it was mediocre at best. One and done with this restaurant.

Michael, the owner, and wife Jeanne, are the best hosts ever. I visit Wildwood once a year for a week and eat at Michael's EVERY DAY! The food is a real Jersey dinner (actually better). Order the pancakes or poached eggs!

I grew up going to the Surfside annually when visiting Wildwood with my parents. While we were heartbroken when they closed the restaurant, thankfully it was resurrected with the Surfside West, comprised of the same owners and many of the same staff. Now as an adult it is a requirement that I eat nearly all of my breakfasts at Surfside West whenever in Wildwood. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is kind and welcoming, and the breakfast dishes are all great. I'm especially fond of the Belgian waffles - skip the whipped cream and fruit, those things are just distractions from the rich flavor of the waffle itself. Many great, creative egg dishes on the menu as well!

Been here a few yrs ago. Went again today. Food was good. Dishes we got said they came with home fries. They did but about 2 tablespoons worth. Also, none of the breakfasts come with beverages including coffee or tea. Cost $3.50 for coffee!!!! We will probably go again but get water with meal and grab coffee at Wawa on way home! $37.00 for breakfast is a bit much!
