Went to Chowpatty over the weekend. The decor / paintings on the wall are really impressive. The menu has so much variety from Mexico fusion to Gujarati Thalis that are traditional. I ordered the papdi chaat and idli sambar. My parents got the dosas. Everything tasted so fresh and good. The sambar quantities weren't enough but they gave us more when needed. Overall the service was pretty sufficient too.

There is not much more I can say about Chowpatty other than that they go above and beyond for their clients all while providing amazing, clean, high-quality food. We have been catering from Chowpatty for our family events dating back to 1998. Even with the growth of Indian catering in New Jersey, Chowpatty still continues to be our go-to for all things food so we knew we wanted them to cater our wedding events! With the exception of our wedding and reception (due to venue exclusivity), we had Chowpatty cater our Mehndi, Sangeet, and Pithi events. Each menu was so thoughtfully created to ensure that all events had different cuisines with unique dishes. Neil spent many hours with both of our families, helping us finalize our menus in detail all while keeping our individual interests in mind. Chowpatty seamlessly accommodated our request for dishes without no onion/garlic as well. They even created a boba drink station for our Sangeet as requested! There is truly nothing they are not willing to make work for their guests. There is something to be said about having nothing but positive experiences for the near 30 years that we have been catering from Chowpatty. I can say this is all thanks to none other than the family-like relationship they keep with their clients!

Solid gujrati thali. I love the small, warm and fresh rotli and the little fried vada, as well as the dry aloo shak !! Beyond a filling meal, I felt like I was totally about to pass out after eating . Also cute ambience with painted murals covering all the walls showing scenes from India.

Fun place to get your cravings satisfied! They have all the usual Indian Fast Food options and more. Well staffed and quick service. The decor is great! They've obviously taken pains to recreate an Indian roadside dhaba (truck stop restaurant) feel with trucks and auto rickshaws coming out of the wall and murals of old Hindi movie wpainted on the sides! Super cool!!We got some of the standard fare - samosas, pani puri, dahi bhalla chaat, Pav bhaji and Chole bhature. They also have vada pav, dosas and an Indian-Chinese menu but I don't know how good or bad these are. Everything we ordered was satisfactory and the waiters were attentive. They also have a next door take out joint attached to the restaurant where you can get a variety of mithais, dhokla, samosas and golguppas to go.

Colorful pictures of dishes and the interiors from fellow reviewers are what that caught my eyes into trying out this place. Finding a street parking was such a pain in the super busy Oak tree road and after few back and forth, we finally found a spot right by the entrance on the street. Wonder how many customers they lost through frustration for not being able to find a parking. The place looked warm and the murals (Indian vendors and Bollywood's own Shahenshah and Badshah) adorn the wall and the funny dubs of an Indian auto rickshaw and a truck (with Sunny Devil as the driver) would definitely make you stop by click some pictures. We were seated and attended right away with no waiting time. Their menu has some wonderful fusions that you won't find everywhere. We only ordered Bhel puri, ragada samosa and a chaat platter for old times' sake but was more interested to try the Pav Bhaji quesadilla, which we did. We also got a plain dosa which was South Indian enough on the authenticity scale. We loved our time here and the food here was fantastic. We will be back soon to try out their other items on the menu. PS - If you are on Yelp, check in and get a 5% off discount on your bill

We went here recently to try some chaats, which happens to be my number one comfort food. I always have the habit of reading the "1 star" reviews to really see what was so disappointing that drove consumers to write a 1 star. I mean everything had to have gone completely wrong. Loll. My assessment of this place was about 3.5 but I'll skew it to 4 as I loved it when my professors skewed my 76s to a B and my 85s to an A. We ordered the chaat papdi, Bhel puri and dahi puri. The papdi chaat was good. Well seasoned with all the spices and herbs. The Bhel puri was good too, although a bit dry but still fine. The dahi puri was ok. I didn't like the texture of the puri nor the filling garnishments. I've definitely have had better puris and there was yogurt lacking. I mean there wasn't enough yogurt. There's a reason why it's called "Dahi" puri as dahi being yogurt. We also ordered the masala chai, which was good also. I was hoping for doodh patti. ( milk tea) which they did not have. Overall, still a good experience. I'll visit them again To try out other items. They do have some good interior of Muriels of Bollywood actors such as SRK shah rukh khan and Amitabh Bachan. Check 'em out.

Ordered Mix plate which was delicious .However, plan Dosa was disappointingly tasteless along with chutneys.Masala Dosa was even worse .They were not crispy.Masala had wrong ingredients and lacked typical south Indian taste. When gave feedback, the manager simply said we should have asked to "redo it". Staff was polite and place was clean but empty. Of course, will not go again.

LOVED IT! Best indian vegetarian restaurant in NJ. Vada Pav sandwiches are the best and the samosas as well. They have a lot to offer as well and have an amazing space. I go there a lot with my family and they all loved it. Several times I have seen them cater there food for events such as weddings & receptions. Love the place as well as the sweets!

The food is excellent. Maintaining the standard is key. Mumbai style street food to enjoy this is the right place

Very good! I ordered the vege Hakka noodles to go. First off it was packed in the typical to go plastic container but then Saran wrapped on top of that. I thought that was cool and very neat. Anyway, when I took the the lid off I was slapped in the face with the aroma of what I automatically knew was going to be some tasty noodles. The smell alone told me what I got myself into. The first bite made me feel like they prepared and seasoned each noodle individually. It was very flavorful and had a nice level of spice to really take the flavor over the top. I really enjoyed these noodles and will certainly try more of the traditional items they have on their menu. Really happy I tried this place.

This place has almost every Indian dish you could ever wish for, and more. The menu includes both North Indian and South Indian. What's more is they not only have the classic and traditional items like dosas and daal, but then they also have some creative fusion things like paneer ravioli, pav Bhaji quesadillas, and Mexican bhel. Everything tasted great but my favorite was the idli Sambar. The paneer ravioli was a bit strange but not in a bad way. Chai and other drinks are great too. Service can be a hit or miss but mostly good.

Friendly and professional staff serve up a wide variety of flavorful and interesting vegetarian Indian food. I always go for one of the two thalis or the village special - it's a ton of food and it's absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place, I've ordered close to 10 times and I haven't had a single experience that was less than 5-star.
