“Torres Cafe & Catering did the catering for my Father's 70th Birthday Celebration on February 24, 2024! The food was exceptional! Everyone asked me who was the catering restaurant?! I let them it was Torres Cafe & Catering! My guest and I loved every dish! The guest was so in love with the yuca! I am pleased with the service, the wonderful job on all the dishes, the flavor was outstanding! It means a lot that you all delivered to the event! Service was above and beyond my expectations! “The place has such a vibe. The food is just delicious. I had a bacon egg and cheese and a chicken cutlet sandwich. We all have that sandwich spot. The one we like the bread at or the coffee or the way we get treated. This is my spot now. Customer service made you feel right at home. The vibe made you want to stay and relax for a little. Take some time and read this memo the owner has posted by the register. I should have taken a picture but the one line that stop out to me, If you need to vent do it because I will vent to you. “I have visited El Lechon de Negron many times and have never been disappointed. They have authentic Puerto Rican food. They always have e a good fresh selection of classics, such as White Rice and beans, Arroz con Gandules (rice with pigeon peas), juicy pork chops, stewed chicken and pasteles ( Puerto Rican tamales). They offer many other staples as well as empanadas ( patties - chicken or beef) and Alcapurias (taro root and beef fritters). On my recent visit I had the stewed chicken with arroz con gangules and it did not disappoint! It was plentiful and tasty. The service was swift and the staff was attentive. Consistently good - WEPA !“
“I've lived in this area for almost a decade, but had not yet found Latin food that could compare to what I had growing up in Union City and when I lived in the city and visited Washington Heights. Until now, that is! Surrender Cafe recently became available on DoorDash. I had never heard of it, but was drawn by the great reviews, tempting photos of the food, and many of my favorites on a menu with lots of my favorites. This is the first time I've ever ordered from a place, and then immediately again the next day. I especially love that so many of their dishes are available in smaller portions. Want to try the mofongo? Here's the mofonguitos! And meat-only portions can be had of just about everything in small, medium or large sizes, which made it easy for me to sample the beef and chicken guisado, red and black beans, pernil, so I ordered the bistec ecebollado for my main dish. Everything, absolutely everything is delicious, and arrived well packaged. Oh - and I almost forgot - the tres leches! Absolutely top notch. Not only some of the best Latin food I've ever had, but some of the best comfort food I've ever had, period.“
