Whenever we're in Central we stop by for the baked treats that never disappoint and often don't last in the car on our way out of Lewisporte.This time we stopped to get breakfast as we were heading back to St. John's after a long staycation weekend out of town. Breakfast quesadillas for the win for all four of us.A stop here is worth the extra few minutes drive. We definitely saved the best for last.
We stopped here for a quick lunch after a short visit to Embree. This is what some people call a hole in the wall meaning it's easy to miss. I ordered the Apple Walnut Goat cheese salad. It was definitely not the typical cafe salad. Especially not with the balsamic reduction dressing. It was nice and will help to offset all of the calories I took in yesterday. Such luck to find this place. The owner, who is also the cook, was serving folks and provided a lot of detail about the cakes made on site. We ate perfectly cooked chicken breast on just-the-right-thickness-and-crispness ciabatta. I asked for my drink extra-hot and it actually came that way! Personal stories adorn the wall inside and add layered context to the operation. Super reasonable prices.
