Service was first rate. The beer, I ordered, Squeezebox, was a decent IPA. Chowder was bland, and scanty for the price. Do not make the mistake of assuming that the locale, a precious old timey fishing village, has anything to do with the food: through the magic of refrigeration, a pub in Alberta could do as well.

Lively brewery with great views overlooking Quidi Vidi. Everyone here seemed to be enjoying themselves. Outdoor seating was plenty and are covered and heated for comfort. Beer selection was fun and we ordered two different flights and got to sample 10 varieties to compare tastes. The best part is is attached to a food truck where you can order the fish and chip special. It's a cool place to hang.

First, get the fish and chips! Best I've tried in Newfoundland. Second, 99 cent wing night is Wednesdays, starting at 4:00 p.m. Good food, variety of beer and the most lovely deck to sit and enjoy the scenery. Their Iceberg Beer is made from actual iceberg water and is smooth, crisp and lift. I also enjoyed their Iron Cherry sour. Not to sour and very flavorful.

Took forever for anyone to wait on us. We sat at our table for 20 minutes before we finally had to ask the hostess to take our order, and even then she acted like we were inconveniencing her. After that wait, the mediocre food that you have to go downstairs and pickup from a food truck, wasn't worth it.

Great service. Fantastic view and location, nestled in a truly historic spot. Good home brews. Pretty easy to strike up a convo with a local who will drop all sorts of knowledge. Blessed.

This was the most advertised brewery in St. John that we had read about, so we decided to stop by to check out their beer. We had no intention of staying for food, but we ended up doing that anyway.First off, they have a wide range of beers, both on draft and in cans. The artwork on the cans are awesome! I'm not sure who the artist is, but you almost don't want to throw the cans away because they're so pretty.I got their Imperial Coconut Porter which came in a can, and I was in heaven! Very smooth with coffee notes. Hubby got the 1892 Amber beer and enjoyed it. We also split the Octoberfest, which was refreshing! For food, they have a little truck outside of their brewery with a limited menu. Hubby got the fish & chips and I got the poutine. Hubby said his fish & chips were good - not the best he's ever had, but decent. I really enjoyed the poutine with the cheese curds and delicious gravy! It went very well with the beers. The atmosphere is very chill and they have a beautiful view of Quidi Vidi lake and village. They have seating both inside and outside. Service is friendly and fast.I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Seriously, seated indoors when it was empty and all outdoor seating was taken. No server... Indoor began to fill, literally every one else in the room received service. Not sure if it is because we are 2 women...I suspect so. NOT a good experience and definitely left a bad taste in my mouth in what has been an outstanding experience to St. John's Newfoundland. The scenery is beautiful...skip the brewery.I will fulfill the stereotype of females tipping poorly.
