Wonderful food, reasonable portions, and remarkable prices. Fifteen dollars gets you a turkey dinner with veggies, fries, dressing, and gravy. With coffee!

Consistently well presented and awesome tasting FAST FOOD. Awesome service. Tip worthy.Parking: Enter off O'Leary Avenue. Exit via Peet street. Parking for 20+ vehicles. Very limited parking during lunch hour weekdays.Wheelchair accessibility: No ramp necessary. Slight 8ncline to both entrances. No automatic doors. Reasonably compact and comfortable seating. No wheelchair seating.

The fish and chips was great. Very fresh and really good crunch on both fish and fries. But gravy was horrendous. It was just pure boiled water with flour in it.Apart from that, the service and other menu was really good.

I've recently been on a fish and chips binge in Newfoundland, so it was interesting to be able to go to all the different places over the last couple of weeks and compare them. I'm writing this review after the conclusion of my two week fish and chips expedition :-)The food: I did dine in. First off I'd say that the fries and gravy at Scampers was the best I had. The issue we had with the food was that of all the fish I had in Saint Johns this was not fresh and had clearly been sitting about for a good while. It wasn't off or anything like that, but it was not the freshest and this was a bit of a downer on the whole meal. Also I'd say that there isn't really any excuse with not having fresh fish this being Saint John's after all.Service: The service was alright. It is not the kind of place where they are going to roll out the red carpet, but then again nowhere in Newfoundland is like that. Overall no issues.Atmosphere: Hands down the best decor of all the places I went to. I love the fact that the place is a vintage fish and chip place. I'd say the place dates from the late 1950s to mid 60s. Anyway, I love it, please never change it.

The food was ok but 29 plus dollars for a two piece fish and chips with dressing and gravy in a little paper plate was insane. No drink. Just the 2 piece fish and chips

Was really disappointed with my last visit here. Food wasn't great and the fries were barely cooked at all. Last time (probably 3 years ago) I had a great experience here so hopefully this was just a one-off.
