“We were on vacation in NL and stayed 2 nights at the B&B next door to this place. We stopped for lunch on day 1 simply because it was convenient & we didn't have a lot of time. It was so good we made a special trip to go back for lunch on the second day. Both days my wife had the same sandwich and I tried 2 different ones and they were all delicious. We had not one single complaint. The staff are all friendly especially the cashier, she was a treasure. Now, if they only carried Dr Pepper Zero.“

“Right across the street from my hotel. I had a wonderful cup of hot chocolate and enjoyed meeting the cats and kittens. If you live/work in the area I highly recommend spending some time here.“

“Gayle and I very much enjoyed our Day 1 Lunch at the Red Oak at The Rooms. My guess is that Red Oak is the catering company that operates this scenic (with a killer view of the waterfront including the Narrows) at the Rooms. The restaurant is on a higher floor and once we were done with our Lunch we explored The Rooms from Top to Bottom. Since Newfoundland (and Labrador) is a maritime province we wisely chose seafood dishes, Seafood Stew for Gayle and Cod Cakes for me. Of course we shared. Washing all that down (besides water) was a wee pint of local ale from me and an Oyster Bay (New Zealand) Chardonnay for Gayle. It was all delicious and with stellar service to match. This dining experience was certainly a great start to our St. John's visit.“

“I love a good mocha, and so far in st johns had only found satisfactory ones, but not a truly great mocha....until I tried Madras. this is one of the best mochas I have ever had. can't wait to try more items from the menu“

“Great place for a break and refreshment while exploring Signal Hill. The hot chocolate was amazing, not watery, not thick, but full chocolatey goodness! Several flavours and choices of dark or milk chocolate (we went with the dark). We actually tried it twice, once during a rainy day and the second time on a cool, bright morning, so it really hit the spot. Of course, the staff were very friendly and efficient.“

“The food was so good. We had some of the breakfast sandwiches. And the grilled cheese. They were training new staff and everyone was lovely and helpful. The apple flip had a good flavour. The croissants were flakey and buttery. The cheddar biscuits were super yummy. The raspberry flake looked so good.“

“I really like Jumping Bean, they have most definitely won me over!The food here is really good. I've had many different sandwiches, pastries, bagels, and cookies, and let me tell you... they're all DELICIOUS. I don't know how they do it, but they do.The coffee here tastes great and they have a wonderful selection of brews. The other drinks are great too!The atmosphere here is what keeps me coming back just as much as the great food+drinks. It's so relaxing and welcoming here. It's bright inside with natural light, it's open, yet cozy. I love coming here to do my work and just relax.PS the picture I've added to this review is a beautiful sunset I saw when leaving one day. It was so beautiful that it moved me to tears, so I had no other choice but to show everyone here.“
