This is a good choice if you're not looking for Mexican food. The pizzas are pretty good and taste homemade. The crust is like a flatbread but the upside is there's both meat lovers and veggie options. Also, this is a great place for coffee, had the espresso milkshake which was awesome. I would say that the prices are pretty steep though. Overall this place has a great atmosphere and fees very "hip".

The pizza is good. The sandwiches are good. The lattes are good. Didn't think the bizcochitos were anything spectacular. Overall this place is good, not great though.

Went in for pizza for the first time tonight, (Philly transplant). Ordered an xtra large (same as a Large anywhere else) cheese, with a few non meat toppings, due to lent, and 1 beer; it was $35. After about a half hour, I requested to box it to go. The pizza itself was ok, good. I was disappointed after reading hyped up reviews. It was not amazing, mind blowing or even a lil wow factor, but $27 (cost of pizza only), it was. Not important to me but it was poorly inaccurately sliced, oddest size pieces I've ever seen. The quality of ingredients were fresh and lovely. I'm happy to see a local small business do well, but to grab a pizza and a couple of beers and spend avg $50 for avg pizza/beer, not for me. I expect a wow factor. Coming from the Northeast, I know I sound harsh but truth is, I'm spoiled and maybe even a lil bit of a food snob and I accept that. I totally recommend tourist to visit it, I wish them continued success.

What brought me in was the pizza. The green Chile crust is delicious. When you pick up your pizza they give you some biscochitos. Then you are hooked on their cookies and empanadas. The one time my order was wrong they gave me a free pizza and cookie. They didn't have to do that.

Came in for a cookie, left with a dozen different cookie options and a blue corn with green chili pizza. Pizza was heaven and was amazing hot or cold! Choc chip cookies are greatness, especially on a road trip

I just love this place. The atmosphere, the breads, the cookies, empanadas. Not to mention the coffees and the home made pizzas!

We love the biscochitos, the empanadas are so-so, and the pizza tastes like bowling alley pizza ‍. I know some people LOVE this place but I would really only make the stop for the cookies. However it is important to note that the staff and owner are always really friendly and great :)

For a time, I was bugged that Golden Crown Panadería lacked pictures of their baked goods (pan dulce). Endless photos of pizza would pop up on my yelp feed. So finally, I went to see for myself what the pan dulce was like and I found it to be purely amazing. For being a historically Hispanic city, Albuquerque does not have oodles of Mexican bakeries like other cities in the Southwest. The ones that are here are clustered south of Interstate 40, almost all in seedy parts of town. Golden Crown Panadería isn't like that. It shines above the rest. While other Panaderías use artificial fruit fillers and bleached white flour, Golden Crown provides a more wholesome option. On top of that, they offer some pretty fresh pizzas! I ended up trying that as well. This old town gem is warm and inviting. There are some places to sit and they offer a fantastic patio in the summer months. Most likely, you'll be offered a house biscochito while you're mulling over what to order. Here are some of my favorite items so far: -guava cream libro -conchas -pumpkin empanada -cherry empanada -blue corn combo pizza The pan dulce is baked fresh everyday. The empanadas have a lighter, earthy texture, which makes them highly addictive (I am confident they are made with blue corn flour as well). Consider bringing these to your next meeting or family gathering. The conchas are lightly sweet, soft and fluffy. These are a perfectly paired with hot chocolate on a cold winter night. I like to think of the guava cream libro as a Mexican Danish. The flavor is tropical yet traditional. You'll see what I mean. Then the pizza. The annoying pizza that popped up on my yelp feed for years. The pizza is actually the reason for this review. The blue corn crust is thin and light. The ingredients in the "combo" are cut fresh and sprinkled evenly on the pie. The finished product wasn't dry and didn't fall part. This pizza, my friends, was made with devotion. Blue corn is a wonderful alternative to a traditional crust, it's easier to digest, and most importantly, it is a Golden Crown Original. I get it now, Golden Crown Panadería is really the best.

*NM DONUT KWEEN ADVENTURES* #39 for 2019 I hadn't been to Golden Crown Panaderia for a bit! The reason for my current visit was because of an awesome contest on FB. The Donut Kween won a medium 1-topping pizza! So the night i decided to claim my prize was a perfect night for my wins! I am more than happy i adventured out that night! It was alright. Had pizza; which was fresh and salad. Also had some of the cookies; they were light and sweet but I didnt see the big deal about them... nice display of treats

Had heard a lot of this place so I decided to visit. I did get the free cookie which was nice and good but wasn't to the taste I had heard about. None of the baked products on display visually appealed to my but my wife bought some and they were enjoyable but not that great. I was really looking forward to the blue corn crust pizza. We got a vegetarian pizza. Definitely was good but as to be expected it's not there main product. The name of the business is Bakery in spanish. Not sure what it was but there was definatly a southwest flavor to something. Not sure what it was but like the flavor of a black bean burger. So that taste didn't go well with me as I wanted a vegetarian pizza with the blue corn crust I wasn't expecting that other southwest flavor.

Pizza, it's one of those foods that's either good or really good. You never walk away saying, "that pizza was garbage." Golden Crown serves the variety of really good pizza. They offer several different pizza doughs, including a green chile dough, and their cheese and toppings are top quality. Our go to is a peasant dough combination with some beers and then we don't really speak to each other until all of our pizza is devoured. Their baked goods will remind you of your grandmas house, and hit the heart and the tummy in the right place. Having a bad day? Nothing an empanada can't fix. If you haven't tried Golden Crown you should add it to your date night list!

Great baked goods at great prices. A no frills bakery that is obviously a local favorite and hole in the wall. Even on a Saturday afternoon we had plenty of baked goods still left to choose from in the case. We mainly came in for biscochitos, but ended up needing to try more than just the cookie that drew us in. The service was friendly and quick. The traditional Biscochitos were good, not overly sweet with a hint of anise flavor. The Chocolate Biscochitos were also not too sweet, but the chocolate overtook my preferred cinnamon flavor. The Almond Cookies were a vibrant shade of pink and fun to look at. As far as flavor they had a nice almond flavor and were not overly sweet. The Mexican cookies were delicious with plenty of powdered sugar on top. The Blueberry Empanada had a delicious, flaky crust with a nicely flavored filling. I liked the sprinkle of cinnamon on the outside. Overall, great baked goods. I loved that all of the baked goods were subtle on the sweetness. Everything is a great value too. For everything we ordered it came to just around $5, can't beat that!

Came here for the first time since I was in the neighborhood. I decided to get a pizza to go so that I would have lunch for work for the week. I got the Hawaiian pizza with the green chile crust. It was delicious, although I was disappointed that the green chile crust didn't have much flavor to it. The counter person wasn't very short with me and almost seemed irritated that I was there. Four stars vs five stars based on the service.

Golden Crown Panaderia has a delightfully cute interior and friendly staff, but just mediocre baked goods. The restaurant itself is adorned with fun decorations and an overall cozy atmosphere. The welcoming wooden signs, the small tables, and the fun patterned tablecloths all invite you in and make you feel at home. Plus the staff was exceptionally friendly. They gave helpful recommendations and even let me sample one of the small cookies. Unfortunately, the treats I ultimately ordered were just so-so. The apple empanada was sweet but not particularly indulgent. The marranito (chewy molasses cookie) was kind of dry and just so-so. Plus both had been sitting out for a while - they would've been so much better warm, I think. I didn't try any of the pizzas, sandwiches, or other made-to-order meal-type items, so I can't comment on those. All I know is the pastries left me a bit disappointed. So if you want a cute environment to lounge and relax, Golden Crown is an excellent choice. But when it comes to the pastries themselves, I prefer other options.
