Always love Monroe's. Food is great, and our server was wonderful, very helpful. Mom and I really enjoyed our meal. My Chile rellenos were way yummy. And mum loved her fajitas. I'll be back next time I'm in ABQ!

In spite of not having a particularly warm atmosphere, we really love the food here. And the service is excellent. What we don't like about the dining area is that it's wide open and so there aren't many quiet spots to talk. But the food makes up for this, and I'll be back.

This restaurant has been around since I was a kid. They have good traditional New Mexican food. They also have items for the gringos and those who are vegetarian. (Sorry, no vegan offerings.)When you've been at the woodshop all morning, its a nice spot for casual dining.
Love the food at Monroe's. We try to eat there every time we go to Albuquerque.

Service was excellent. Table was a little small for the amount of plates we got, I found that we were shuffling stuff around and that was with 3 adults. My Dad said this was "Gringo" New Mexican food...and well, I'd have to agree. Not one thing had any kick. Not the red chile, not the green chile, not the guac, not the salsa; maybe somewhat seasoned, certainly colorful but definitely not very flavorful. I ordered the chicken chimi, the chicken was moist and it also had a white cheese inside, I asked for it extra crispy and they cooked it correctly, all veggies, sauces and condiments on the side to maintain crispness and it was huge, i didnt even eat half. Also came with beans and rice. The chips and salsa were....bland. The chips lacked salt and the salsa was very Pace mild-ish. My Dad and Niece both ordered some sort of super combo and were satisfied however we were all dissatisfied with the rice, it was very dry and zero flavor. I put my pace salsa on it but that didn't help, it just made it cold and still hard. Doh!!!! If you're a true red or green chile fan I say skip it.....too many better choices in ABQ
