Mr. Powdrell's on Central. Always a pleasant Experience, from the friendly, helpful as well as patient Staff behind the Counter, to the Ambiance, to of course the finger licking good BBQ Platters served here! Not to mention the Sides and Sauces, that ate always fresh n tasty.Family and Staff have kept up the Standards set by the late Founder, thank you!

Just had take out pork sandwiches for lunch. The buns were too hard to even eat. The pork was fair at best.

Friendly staff, good service. Kind of dumpy tho; small space not particularly interesting or well arranged. Unremarkable BBQ, particularly considering all the othe other tasty barbecue places in town.

I got 2 kids brisket sandwiches, 1 with fries and the other w mac+cheese. I also got catfish strips w spicy fries. Enough catfish strips for two meals. I will go back again .Everything was very good and quantities were enough for 2.

I think this may have been the first time I've been to Powdrell's. They're mostly take out only now and have modified hours. I got the kid's size brisket sammie with the mac and cheese ($6.50), my mom the kid's brisket sammie with fries (the fries salty and cooked just right), and my dad the catfish strips with spicy fries (more than enough to still make another sandwich out of the Texas toast). The brisket was moist and tender and had a good smoky flavor. The BBQ sauce was a little more sweeter and tangier, which was different and I liked the mac and cheese (just gooey enough). 2023 #56

Takeout only but ate in their patio. Pulled pork was ok. Not happy that they put sauce on it without asking. Not a fan of sauce. Just give me the meat. Pork was average. Beans and greens were the highlight.

wow!! Got the three meat plate to try a few different things. Very delicious. The spot had a family vibe and good energy. Great prices too for a meal w heart :)Heads up, no inside dining, but they do have a small seating area outside. Lovely gem in ABQ

Had a large order coming in, and here's what I rank them at. The collard green is really good, nice, flavorful, and I can drink the broth that's cooked in. Hot links are fine. Eat that over rice, and I'm happy. Barbecue burrito needs red ? sauce for you enjoy. The potato salad was meh to blended for my taste since I'm a texture person all kind of one note to ME. Next, the cole slaw was sweet slightly, and that's fine by me. Fried okra was cooked perfectly. That's all I ordered. Was upset that there was no seating inside. Didn't ask why other than that had an enjoyable eat experience.

The employees here seem like they sure do hate their jobs. The lady at the cash register is one of the rudest disgusting people I have ever met. They treat you very poorly even when you're spending almost $200 on barbecue.

The BBQ is the best this side of St. Louis! Absolutely divine! Highly recommend!

This is the BEST barbecue joint in ABQ. Skip Rudy’s…let me be more clear, do NOT even CONSIDER Rudy’s, as Mr. Powdrell’s blows them out of the water. If you are familiar with good, properly cooked barbecue and smoked meats, you will be happy here. The food is beyond delicious, and always leaves me stuffed. The staff is great and the place is very cool, too.Pick this place! and again, absolutely not Rudy’s! Mr. Powdrell’s rocks!

Unfortunately this forever staple of local barbeque has gone downhill since the founder died. Although family is supposedly still in charge, the location on Central is on its last legs! They have cut this location to a minimum of takeout only. The chicken, ribs, and brisket were all dry. Two types of baked beans were flavorless. Only the collard greens were authentic.Staff was doing their best but the "several" giant menu signs leading to the order area was overwhelming. Should just show one at entrance and a couple above and behind the counter.Too many other choices for better barbeque to return.

This place is tanking hard. Its like they are actively TRYING to go out of business. Sad that an institution like this would throw away all that went into building it up. Food quality is way down, service is rude, and for some reason they clearly have never mentally come out of the pandemic - like they WANT it to continue...DON'T waste your time or money here... Whatever you may have heard about Powdrells is long gone.

Went today. Ordered a full slab of baby back ribs. Meat was dry as a bone and outer layer was old amd tough. Terrible!! Should of not been served. Will never go there again

The staff are SUPER! friendly. The food ...and I say this regretfully was not the best I've had, coming from the Big Apple. Ambiance... was an order pick up establishment, it use to be a full service however they "don't have the staff" for full service according to one of the relatives of the owner.
