Excellent crust. I would say in the top 5 of pizza crusts in ABQ. I ordered a small spinach and artichoke pizza and it was enough for 2 people. The Caesar salad was nice and fresh. Also, the man working, who I assume to be the owner, was incredibly friendly.

Amazing pizza and staff!!! We got there at closing and they still catered to my wife and I. Not only awesome customer service but some of the best pizza we have had in a long time. Will be back for sure!!!

This place popped up a couple times in my social media and we decided to give it a go. Pizza is one of my faves and I'm always happy to try new places. These garlic knots are the perfect hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside garlicky wonderfulness I always expect when I order them, but rarely get. I would 100% come back just for these. We ordered the Queens and added Italian sausage to it. The toppings are all super fresh and good quality and if you're wondering if you really want eggplant on pizza, yes you do. The crust is crunchy and chewy at the same time, and holds up great to all of those heavy toppings. Definitely a fan! Can't wait to see the menu expand. Check them out.

You know you're in trouble when you call to order a pizza and ask for basil and they don't have basil and act confused that you're asking for it. But, I decided to give it a shot anyway because the pics looks so good on Instagram and I'm always in search of an elusive slice of real NY pizza here in ABQ. Should have listened to my first instinct when there was no basil. Pizza looked good but was kind of bland in flavor and the crust did not have that great NY slice crunch and chew. Salad was nothing more than some iceberg, couple veggies and grated cheese. Price $32 for plain pizza with some artichoke and a salad. I hate giving anything but 5 star reviews but you've got to call things for what they are. Hope they improve.

I hate to do this to a business but I need to be honest about my experience. I called an hour before picking the pizza up assuming it would be ready when we got there, they said it was coming out of the oven. 15 minutes go by and we were told our pizza never made it in the oven and that it would be 20 more minutes. That was very disappointing since I placed an order over the phone with more than enough time. When we finally get the pizza home we realized they had left off toppings that we paid extra for. As for the pizza, it was below average in my opinion. I don't love thin crust pizza but this pizza had literally no cheese on it and minimal sausage on it. I know this is a new business but there are no excuses for the multiple mistakes made.

Poorly managed - for dramatically better pizza and a better overall experience I recommend going to Amores just up the street. Way better food that is actually fresh and not overly greasy and frozen tasting. Definitely wont be visiting Poppys ever again. Also Poppys has no vegan options.

The calzone was amazing! As a NY transplant to Abq, I can say it was the best calzone I have had in Abq, an authentic NY calzone! Super yummy, and huge! I will be back again soon. The owner was super friendly and the service was great.

I had the opportunity to try this place for the recent Yelp even but I got very busy that week and unfortunately missed it. I really wanted to try it and figured even though I missed the event I'd still give them a try. I love pizza so after seeing the reviews and photos I knew I was in for a treat. We got off to a bumpy start. When I arrived I wasn't sure exactly what their set up was and when greeted I was asked how they could help. I told the cashier I was interested in getting some food. After I was seated I placed my order, we were off to the races. I wanted to try the meatballs but was informed they didn't have any readily available. About 20 minutes later my server returned and explained to me that the chef had confused my order. The pizza I ordered a couple extra toppings on top of the basic two (pepperoni, sausage, canadian bacon, and mushrooms) and they had split them to two topping on each half instead of all 4 all around. Admittedly I was a bit disappointed and explained I wanted all the toppings throughout the whole pizza. They apologized and made it right by taking it back and remade my pizza along with giving me a discount. Other than the misunderstanding I rather enjoyed the pizza. The cheese they use was super good!

The Westchester Specialty Pizza is quite possibly the best combination of toppings I've seen on a Pizza in years! Ricotta, garlic, and spinach with mozzarella and no red sauce may seem simple and might not excite from just description, but the blend of rich flavors and textures is phenomenal. All Pizza should be eaten fresh, then cold, then reheated to be sure it holds up. Poppy's crust doesn't get soggy or over-crisp in the abuse of becoming leftover, which is a serious point in its favor. Raz and I didn't manage to grab Pizza last time we were in New York, so we can't rate the New Yorkiness of the pizza, but we can say that it's about as far from chain-store delivery pie as Cordon Bleu is from KFC. All told, this may be my new favorite Pizza in Albuquerque, and I can't wait to introduce the ladies at the clinic to this tasty fare.

As you may see, me and the boyfriend love to get pizza (or curry) on Fridays. It's our treat to ourselves for a hard week. Here in New Mexico good vegetarian pizzas are hard to come by. We tend to go between two key places (see my reviews to get names). Now, I can proudly say that there is a 3rd contender for our Friday Pizza Nights!! Poppy's Pizza is the epitome of New York style pizza. From the brick oven to the piece that bubbles and blackens that our family fights over, from the on-the-sweeter-side sauce to the fresh toppings. This pizza was an absolute delight. We got the 16 inch Long Island, which is the size of a large "big box chain" pizza. The topping were fresh, evenly distributed, and most importantly they did not make the crust wet. This is a hard thing to do when you load a pizza with veggies. We also got a single topping 12 inch pepperoni pizza and it was BOMB!! A true test of how pizza stands up is when you grab a cold slice from the fridge, you think "is it still good?" I am happy to report the cold slices were just as good as the competition. The downside, and maybe it's being spoiled, but I like when fresh Parmesan and hot-chili-oil comes with my pizza. But in NYC style you get the packets of chili flakes and not-so-fresh packaged cheese. Sometimes the difference between choosing your pizza place might come down to this little factor. But what I can say for sure is the price of these pizza based in the size you get is well worth it. The menu will be expanding. So there is a lot more to come. In addition, the building was clean. The staff was kind. They were all wearing masks and obeying the COVID policies in place. There is curbside parking on Central. You can call in your order beforehand. And you'll be greeted with a smile. Also, they take your number and text you if you need to wait for your pizza so if you're on foot you can walk the shops of Central. I will be returning, and Poppy's Pizza is now in the top 3 pizza places I love in NM!

Ordered at the window for an Elite opportunity. This pizza was NY Style all the way! Loved the crust and the flavors in the sauce. We will be back for more! It is the perfect serving size with enough left for lunch the following day.
