Love Sala Thai. Been going for years, and I'm never disappointed. My go-to dishes are the drunken noodles and the pad thai!

Amazing pad thai, sweet like honey and perfect spice level. Probably the best pad thai I've had. Also got drunken noodles that are amazing. Will be back.

This place is consistently delicious, consistently fast and the proprietor is always friendly. There is no indoor seating — or outdoor for that matter — but it’s super convenient to call ahead and pick up from the window on the sidewalk. I like to walk my dog over there and grab my lunch order. Breaks up the workday! I love the panang curry with tofu ?Vegetarian options: You can order tofu with anything. And it’s actually flavorful!

This literal whole in the wall is where the original last call used to be (rip). It's been open for a bit and I had been wanting to go so we tried it recently. DELICIOUS. It was right before closing and the service was so nice and incredible. I got Sala Thai fried rice with chicken and I picked level 2 for heat, I could have gone for 3 but I get scared of Thai heat, as it can get crazy hot. It also came with fresh cut cucumbers and a slice of tomato and I thought that was something you normally don't get and I really appreciated it because it helped with the heat but also gave your taste buds a short break and some extra veggies. The rice was so delicious and it had a great balance of veggies and meat, a little more rice than the rest but that's totally fine with me. The heat was good, I'll probably go for 3 next time but even 2 was spicy and flavorful. I would totally go back! Amazing experience and food.

I want to start off by saying that nine times out of 10 when I order Pad Thai I instantly regret it. There was a place in the bay area that destroyed the dish for me, because it was so good, but nothing has ever compared.Anyways, on a whim, I decided to try the shrimp pad Thai here at Sala. It was right before they closed around 8:30 and I just walked up to the window to order. The food was quick, took maybe 10 minutes at the most. Service was friendly and although it's just a walk up window, you can tell this is the definition of a hole in the wall.Anyways, back to that pad Thai. Often my issue with the dish is when there's too much sauce, and it gets soggy. Plus the flavor can be hard to perfect. This pad Thai was some of the best I've had since my favorite spot in the bay. I was really really happy with the flavor and texture. I ordered a one on the spice scale, and it had a little bit of a kick, but it was really good. I will say the portion was a little on the smaller size, but it was well worth it. I will definitely be back.

I had such high hopes for this place, since it's so hyped up. The location is also hella sketchy, which is great in my book. Sketchy locale = usually good food. Unfortunately, the food fell flat. Both the red curry and pad kee mao lacked complexity in flavor. My husband thought the curry was very bland (he's German, so if he thinks anything is bland - I immediately have alarm bells going off). My drunken noodles tasted very off, as though the rice noodles had gone bad but they tried to work with it anyway.

Boy oh boy, incredible food as always. Red curry with shrimp and tofu pad Thai, two favorites with quite a lovely taste. Usually spicy 2 is spicy enough for my household. Unfortunately, tonight’s pad Thai order to go was (maybe…?) half full, so one star falls.Salathai— increase your prices if you gotta! We understand! We’ll pay more for a full dinner portion rather than pay the same amount for less food. Thanks for a great dinner, nonetheless!

Sala Thai is no longer a dine-in restaurant, and post COVID lockdown, is exclusively an order to go restaurant. The food is still "Hole-in-the-Wall" homemade Thai style. Vegetarian/Vegan options available.I've been going their since 2004, and the owner and his wife are incredibly sweet, and take pride in their cooking. Lots of love in those dishes. You will be pleased!Kid-friendliness: All dishes are spicy adjustable. From 0 - 4Parking: Paid parking, however you're just picking up and going, So.... c'est la vie?
