This place is run by the same folks who originally had the restaurant on San Jose Blvd just up the street from the Senior Center. If you liked them there, this place is smaller and a little more traffic on Canal St to dodge getting in, but it's the same Angie and the food is just as good. Since Carlsbad turned into an oilfield town and the population tripled in a year, restaurants are fairly well overwhelmed dealing with all the new customers, so understand this and any other restaurant in Carlsbad might be out of a particular dish, or short on help, or you might think the menu is priced higher than before. Angies is still worth it. Best time to visit is non-peak hours like between lunch and supper hours.
The tortas cubanas are my favorite here their super good and worth the price
