Alot of people rave about BBQ kings. We've had it several times & it's def not all that it's made out to be. The meat tastes like the fluid/coal, the brisket is tough & the ribs aren't very meaty. The sides and deserts are good though & their catfish is a good portion, well seasoned & priced right. If you've had real barbecue, then you'll know!

Wowza this place has fabulous BBQ. I went with the ribs and brisket plate, they both blew me away. Cole slaw and mac and cheese were also great. Thank you for adding onions and pickles on the side, everyone should do that. I've tried a lot of good BBQ (one year I was even a volunteer judge at the American Royal BBQ Competition), and this place is top notch. The people who work there are fabulous and the pricing was excellent too.For comparison, I stopped by Tyler's in Amarillo on the way to Clovis, and their brisket was inedible - it was sooooo dry. Tyler's is supposed to be an essential Texas BBQ spot, but I don't get it at all.I came to BBQ King for a BBQ redemption and it did not disappoint. I was told the dessert sells out by Saturday, and hot damn the pineapple cheesecake is delicious. I wish I grabbed a second piece, and a slice of the banana split cake too. Hopefully they have some left tomorrow when I go back to try the fried catfish, which I hear is also yummy.I'm here for a few more days, so I'll definitely be back. I'll update as I try more things.
I got the catfish plate with smoked mac n cheese and texas toast and fries. Catfish was well seasoned and delicious. The fries were decent. I personally didnt like the flavor of the smoked mac, i think it couldve used more flavor and cheese. Also got a pineapple cheesecake and that was pretty good and light! Bf got the brisket sandwich, the brisket was a little overcooked bht the bbq sauce helped.Would recommend the catfish and pineapple cheesecake!

I make it my business to eat here at least once a week. My typical order is the Cajun catfish with fried okra and French fries. However, whenever they’re doing the smoked turkey legs or the lollipop chicken legs I’m always gonna grab these, too! The food 10/10, the portions 10/10. The people 10/10!

It's okay. Not the best bbq I've had. The smoke line on the brisket was pretty much absent, so not a lot of flavor in the meat alone and while some pieces were moist others were more on the dry side. The sauce and Mac n Cheese was okay but not really anything to write home about.

My husband only eats catfish from one place and one place only. A long time ago someone told us the food here wasn’t good so we never stopped by. Today I forced (lol) my husband to stop. He said the catfish was amazing! He’s now p*ssed that he’s been missing out. ? literally everything we ordered was great! Brisket sure didn’t have any fat on it. The potato salad is probably one of the best “restaurant” ones I’ve had. Perfect balance of mustard and other ingredients. I don’t care too much for the mustard taste and this was good. Mac and cheese was saucy, not dry and had flavor. The banana split cake, all I can say is wow. BBQ Kings will be the #1 place on our list to eat in Clovis from now on.
