Favorite little neighborhood bar and gathering place. The owner, John, is a gem, as is all of his staff. We are always greeted with kindness, wonderful service, and appreciation. The chicken enchilada casserole is my all time favorite.

Somebody get this place some help! This was the most bland, uninspired food I've had in years. I ordered the enchilada casserole, green, it came with beans and hominy. The entire entree was swimming in water, no seasoning, no salt, no garlic, onion, anything resembling flavor, anywhere to be found. The enchiladas were just a tiny clump of unidentifiable sludge. I happened upon the flour tortilla that came with my meal, which was clearly homemade, and it was dry, crumbly, and just as disappointing as the rest of the food. I just recently lost my Mom, who spent her final days in a nursing home, and I feel like this food was on par with what I begrudgingly shared with her in her final days.

Disappointed after reading so many good reviews. Smallest portions I have ever seen, We were shocked! Extremely watery red chili and no cheese on the soggy, stacked cheese enchiladas. Maybe just ordered the wrong things, or portions are only for elderly. Unfortunately will not be back.

We happened upon Peres’s one Saturday last autumn , and their menu was a perfect example of selections that can be made for vegans, vegetarians or meat eaters. Jack had Posole made only with vegan ingredients and I had a classic potato stew. At the top of the menu they say the entrees can be vegetarian, chicken or beef. The restaurant itself was cozy and had a bar plus outdoor eating area. The food was delicious, not too oily and sizable potions. Additional note: the restroom was designed with antique cabinets and decor suitable for this historic building.

This was a great find. The food was vegetarian and very clean. The posole I had a great flavor and the vegetable stew that had a great flavor as well! The building it is in was built in the 1800 and the same family has owned and ran the establishment for 80 years!Highly recommended!!Vegetarian options: It seemed like just about everything could be ordered vegetarian!

I have to say I’m really disappointed with my experience. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is very friendly and the locale is quite beautiful with a great atmosphere, but for some reason our food wasn’t seasoned at all. The Posole was made without salt or garlic, the meat for the Taco Plate was bland and compacted, the Nachos seemed to be microwaved with generic shredded yellow cheese on top, the guacamole had no lime juice, salt or garlic either. I was impressed with the bars’ selection of spirits and wine, but our Margaritas were soo sweet it was almost a deterrent.I’m not sure if the kitchen needs to re-work the recipes or if they simply need to taste their food before it goes out, but I’m left hungry and wishing I went somewhere else. I hope the staff receives this and is able to reassess their current game plan.

Wonderful place to stop and try New Mexico's flavors. The service was wonderful- helpful, friendly and lovely. The carne adovada was delicious and the flan sooo good. Definitely stop by for lunch.

late lunch. food is not traditional mexican and was not hot. unadventurous eaters may be disappointed. however i loved it. food was good and having mauling as waitress was worth the drive. stories with our lunch- yes please! america got talent contestant stories- double yes! i think it started as a neighborhood bar. it’s dark and floors are a bit uneven but that adds to the charm. heard some racist men at the bar but that was the only negative. if i lived nearby i would be a regular. also the thrift store right across street benefits the humane society and they have great treasures
