Tacos was good, tasted awesome and was quick. Got the order within 10 minutes or less. small bar are, though had to sit at a table since there was no bar space. Wish the server was a bit more happier though was kinda like just doing her job but was ok at leasted checked on me about the food.

The food here was good but unfortunately it took an hour to be served after we ordered it. Only 1 waitress/bartender working, she did a great job but another staff member was definitely needed.

The food was ok, the drinks were great. But the service was terrible. Waited 45 mins to an hr just to put our names in. The hostess was nowhere to be found, finally I think a server started to sit people so I had her put our names down. 30 mins later, we sat. Ugh. Finally ordered that it took a while as well. Somewhat frustrated with our visit, to say the least.

Waited at hostess table 15 minutes, 3 waitresses walked by, absolutely no staff acknowledged our presence. No one made eye contact, no one said a word to us so we turned around, and spent our money elsewhere.

Cozy spot to get a drink. Prefer this place for their bourbon mixed drinks and tequila based margaritas.

Food is actually not bad at all but you can definitely get way better in Gallup. The thing you cannot get is the history and atmosphere. Another thing your hard pressed to get in Gallup sadly is good service. They have both of these in spades. When I have visitors coming I always take them here for dinner or sometimes just a few drinks. Felix took over the bar several years ago then I moved out of town. I just started working back in Gallup and bringing folks back into town and it was pretty incredible to see what he's done and how his influence has changed the place. I have to say, just the overall atmosphere seems much cleaner and overall inviting. I would, (and now do) take a CEO or group of executives to hang out in the evening. Before he took over I personally enjoyed going but I wouldn't have taken those types of folks as it was admittedly a little rough. Great job all around and as it has always been, a wonderful place with an amazing story.

Beautiful and quaint hotel on Route 66. Wonderful staff too. We loved the historic value of the building and grounds. We will definitely stay again. We had breakfast at Garcia’s on Route 66… also a wonderful place, family owned and the best chilaquiles I have ever had.

Great service! The place actually looks better than their pictures on their website! Nice bar and restaurant on the property as well! Bathroom a little small for me but the interior design is first rate! It looks like a talented set designer was hired to make all the details correct!

After a horrific experience at the adjacent restaurant bar, we decided to visit the "Real" bar, the 49ers Bar at the El Rancho Hotel. We like to sit AT the bar, but it was full, so we grabbed a nearby table. I tried to order the first drink on their menu, which was some version of an Old-Fashioned. The waitress told me they were out of bitters.I asked if they could make a French 75. No.So, we both ordered gin and tonics. How do you mess up a gin and tonic?Order one at the El Rancho 49er Bar, and make sure they use a lot of FLAT tonic. Other people in the bar seemed to be drinking margaritas or beer. I would suggest that would be your wisest choice if you visit.

This hotel has so much history, check in was 2 hours late because they were short staffed, room itself was nice, furnishings looked fairly new. Bathroom is small and very dimly lit but rooms are big. Now the reason for my low review. I had to access the plug behind the headboard and struggled to get to it ( cpap machine) next day I had over 60 bed bug bites on both arms. I realize bedbugs can be at any hotel, but what bothered me most is I tried contacting the Hotel Manager over 8 times, she NEVER RESPONDED. So stay out of room 320, as it probably still has bedbugs.

My friends and I had a perfect stay, not just because the updated rooms and beds are so comfortable, but primarily because of your wonderful staff. I have reserved rooms for the Ceremonial for about 40 years and the staff has been good; it has been special to see Leroy every year. But this year the head of maintenance went above and beyond to help me and my friends, helping me wrangle an overloaded luggage cart and retrieving a credit card a friend dropped in the elevator. Even though housekeeping was short staffed, we were very happy with our stay. Please let the front desk staff and the head of maintenance know how much we appreciate their service.

Old historic property, so lots to see. Movie stars stayed here when filming old western movies nearby. Small rooms....but very clean. Nice Restaurant and Lounge with good food and drinks at good prices. Great for a short stay...

Wonderful historic hotel. The staff there were so incredibly kind and friendly! I’m already wanting to plan a return trip. My only complaint would be that the beds and bedding were not very comfortable.

Great old hotel that has been remodelled for modern comfort. We liked it.. it has a grand feel to it! Beds were comfortable, restaurant was also good. Overall a great place to stay. Bathrooms a bit small.

This place is great if you have the right expectations. It is a step back in time while still being comfortable. The rooms are nice enough. The bathrooms are nice, but no counters, no outlet and no hairdryer (ask at front desk). Room price is quite reasonable. The restaurant and bar are decent. That’s a good thing, because you really can’t walk to anything else. The gift shop has some nice stuff and great hours. The decor of the lobby is incredible and the neon entrance sign is fabulous. There were some minor problems. Open vents on the doors let in light and every sound from the hall outside your room The walls are paper thin. Fortunately, the guests during our stay were not disruptive. An occasional “woof.” Some have complained about the train horns. Gallup gets 80-100 trains going through a day and the horns are constantly blowing, but we didn’t hear them at night. There were 2 big problems, however: We had a confirmed reservation for the “Roy Rogers Suite.” Apparently, several other guests did as well. Alexis did her best to accommodate us, and in the end it worked out fine, but there really is no excuse for messing that up. The parking situation is not good. When the bar and restaurant are full there are no spots for registered guests. The front desk and hotel security really had no suggestions other than to park behind the abandoned building a few blocks down. All in all though, a great find! We would definitely stay there again.
