Love Zia Cafe. Up until their recent closure for repairs, we would eat breakfast or lunch there twice each week. Love Lucy and have seen her waiting tables since The Lantern on Avenida de Mesilla 30 years ago. She & Belinda are best wait staff ever!! Can't wait until they return as miss there specials & their company very much. Have NEVER had a bad meal or service here. Miss you guys??

If you get off I-10 while traveling, you'll likely just dart into Applebee's or Cracker Barrel. Chain places. We all do when we are traveling. Please stop that and go here. Finally broke out of my breakfast routine here and ordered the Mesilla Queso burger. Lordy! What a thing...nice size patty, lots of green chile and queso. But the muffin/biscuit thing was a LOT of mushy bread. Ask for it without the top part of the bun. This was delish! Go with the fries though. The o-rings were kinda bland. We frequent this place every Saturday for breakfast. The chicken fried steak and eggs and the Rio Grand hash plate (get the green) is plenty of food with LOTS of flavor. The pancake is as big as a car wheel and a Mexican Coke with anything is always good. And seriously, the cook knows how to baste an egg. You know how many people say they do and don't. But the last time we popped in it was near lunch time. So I went with the burger. Glad I did. I'll branch out more with the menu now. We love this place. It's not much to look at but the service is friendly and on point. It can take forever to get your food out. Seriously...like forever sometimes. That's why 4 and not 5 stars. But if you have the time for a leisurely meal and some hand made grub...this is your spot.

Excellent food here. The one and only thing they could do to improve is make their own taco shells. The tacos are still really good but a homemade shell would put them over the top. The Chile rellenos are some of the best. The creamy green Chile sauce on the relleno is so much better than any red sauce I've ever had. The red enchiladas are also really good. You know an enchilada is going to be good when there's plenty of sauce and it's a dark red color. Just make sure to order onions if you like onions on your enchilada. I'm good either way so no onions was fine with me. Zia Cafe will become a regular on my list of go to restaurants.

Always a great experience!!!! They have such good service even when they don't have enough servers.

Their pasole is quite good. Burritos are just ok. Haven't tried any of their other dishes, but they are usually pretty busy so it's a popular restaurant. Nice, friendly service.

Great waitress, but extremely slow food when restaurant was not busy. Breakfast was cold. Pancakes had to be cut with a knife.

Was so happy to find Zia Cafe to recharge on a long drive through New Mexico. A total gem. Daniella was such a kind and welcoming server. The menudo was delicious, coffee cup was never empty and had a very home town, family feel. The food was amazing - the ‘Mexican flag’ Chile relleno was delicious too. What a gem of a spot! Good options for vegetarians too.

This New Mexico diner has been used in several movies. The food is great, and they offer three types of chile -red, green and white.

I’m always At Sisbarro doing car inspections and I always smelled magic next door at Zia cafe! I decided today to have breakfast and wasn’t disappointed! Soo yummy and very nice staff! Will be back again and again! My empty plate speaks for itself haha

The food is authentic, plentiful, and so good. The staff is friendly and accommodating, they are attentive and they go overboard to get you what you want or need. There are fancier Mexican restaurants to go in town but you just can't beat Zia Cafe all around. Give them a try... you won't be sorry!!

Food was below average. Not great. Service was a bit slow. Just overall not good and won't be back. Prices are way too high for the quality of food. Don't waste your money.
