Dont get me. wrong it's good inside but the people who work for a place are just important as the food food is our core so who hands me my food is in control of my choice for my core or well being . They did they're job but with out one drop of kindness or friendly vibe I won't return to that one in rio

Can take care of an entire lobby of people before a door dash order is even considered. I got here at 12:45, and waited till around 1:15 for the order I was waiting for. But yet every single person that came in after me can sit and eat.Real professional. Thanks

A descent restaurant with average food. Various choices. Reasonably seasoned the products they sell. I definitely enjoyed their fries. The steak fries are extremely chewy so I would not recommend it

I have to say I’m pretty disappointed that a restaurant at this level closes at 7PM every day. That is when many people are eating dinner. Also, I called at 6:30 to place an order and was refused because they close at 7. IMO that is poor customer service. I would’ve been there before they closed and happy to pay over the phone.

The burger was not what I expected. It wasn't too bad but it seemed to have too much bun and didn't have that much flavor. They forgot the green chile. I do not recommend the taquitas. The remind me of frozen ones from grocery store. The service was friendly and fairly fast for getting a rush and only one person working the back.

This was a waste of my money ? only thing worth eating were the French fries. My burrito was cold, the cheese inside wasn’t even melted. “Steak” fingers were chewy and could barely break them apart. My roll was served cold, could’ve at least been warmed up. It’s a Joke in the Rough.

Been here before with a much better experience compared to today...Staff didn't greet us as we waited to be acknowledged, they continued to walk past us. Gravy was not up to temperature, I was told it would take 30 minutes for a fresh batch. All tables were dirty. Very disappointed in the service today.

After washing the car, I decided to give this place a try. I had seen an advertisement for their half price happy hour drinks so I thought, why not? I ordered us a cherry vanilla limeade, cherry lemonade, and a brownie delight. It took so long to get our drinks. The place was moderately busy, but the wait time was almost unreasonable. I get they are short staffed these days, but the people that arrived five minutes after me got their entire meals before I got my lemonade and limeade... but to be fair I had a day off so I wasn't mad about it. As for our food, the brownie delight was everything!! I had been craving a brownie for months, and this one was amazing!! Plus I feel the ice cream and fudge mix was fantastic! As for the lemonade and limeade, I wasn't really a fan. I ordered the limeade for myself, and even with the cherry and vanilla mix, it was very very very tart (the lemonade was exactly the same, super super sour you couldn't even taste the cherry). I know people out there like tart lemonade/limeade, but it wasn't for me. In spite of this, I will definitely be back for another brownie delight!

1st time trying steak fingers - not a fan. They were hard to bite/chew, the gravy was watery and had no flavor. I so wanted to like them... Cole slaw was ok but the meal seemed mostly fries. Very disappointed. I wish I could have got a refund but we were in a hurry.

Loved this place! Their kind, courteous, and friendly staff are great! They made menu suggestions to help us save money when ordering for our large family. Their steak fingers continue to be the best tasting as ever, as were the taquitos, customized burgers and freshly made fries! There isn't anything on their menu we haven't enjoyed so far! The staff packaged our "to go" order meticulously, with extra condiments and napkins, and went out of their way to open the door for us as we were leaving, even helped us carry drinks out to our car. My daughter and I found the restaurant very clean and loved their nostalgic interior decor. We left with big smiles on our faces and grateful there still exist businesses with employees who genuinely care about their customers in all the details, big and small; as well as take pride in their work. Thank you Ladies for making our food and day special! On our Rio Rancho trips, we will definitely continue to visit this nice little spot.Kid-friendliness: They offer a special kid's menuParking: This is a shared parking lot with a gas station.Wheelchair accessibility: There is handicap parking and a kind staff who is attentive to opening the door to disabled in wheel chair and cane users.

So incredibly disappointed. I’m writing this as I stand here waiting for my order that I placed online AN HOUR ago. I decided to place an order online to make is easier for staff, etc. I show up right on time. I see people come in after me, order after me, get their food BEFORE me. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for my order. What’s the point in offering online ordering? To make matters worse, I hear the cooks in the back asking if they started the online order yet. And they say no and just shrug it off like it’s no big deal. It is a big deal when I’m taking time off the clock and having to wait 30 minutes.

My better half has fond memories of going to Mac's Steak In the Rough as a kid with her family many years ago so we went to enjoy some steak fingers after moving back to the area recently. Gotta say it was a disappointment. Could be just me but the menu was a bit hard to understand in terms of the difference between a "combo" and the "Original" dinner (a drink was the only difference), and it took three tries to convey just what we wanted. We got the little plastic number tent thing after paying, so went to the outside seating area thinking they would bring our order to us. After about 10 minutes I went back inside and the staff checked several bags and found our order. I asked for some salsa and the guy said he'd bring it to us but my wife had to go in and ask again for it. I understand the problems getting good beef these days, but the steak fingers were tough and sinewy, and totally bland as if not seasoned at all. The fries were good, however, so that was a bright spot in the experience. Overall, I was disappointed and can't say I'll be going back.

Good food. But ordered at 7:40 p.m., they close at 8:00 p.m. They were already almost closed. Was told the grill was shut down. No sweet tea. I worked in restaurants for years. If you stayed open until 8, you accepted guests until 8 and they could order anything. I understand the desire to go home but a guest should be able to walk in at 7:58 and order whatever. I like the place but be aware, if you want access to the full menu you better get there at least 30 minutes before they close.
