Capital Café was a perfect place for some good Mexican food. Service was great, our waiter was awesome, I don’t remember his name, but he was good. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Sopapillas to go with butter and honey.
We were staging through Roswell (back to Albuquerque, from Texas) and asked folks in shops where to eat. They all agreed Martin's was the place they favored. After the "Mexican" food in Texas and a late-night stop at an Appleby's type place the night before, we were craving real New Mexican food. And Martin's (pronounced, appropriately, Mar-teen's) provided it.Chips were hot and the salsa good. Rellenos had an excellent blend of cheeses and were cooked just right. Enchiladas made to my wife's preference. Beans and rice made the way they should be (especially as compared to the almost flavorless offerings at the other place). Big, fresh sopaipillas. Friendly staff. Full plates, low prices. My only negative is that the restroom was not dirty but untidy; the door could use a scrub as well.As we were eating we discussed how, if we lived in the area, we would eat there often. And how perhaps we should get to Roswell more often...I've lived in New Mexico for 60 years, and Martin's is just the type of restaurant I look for when I travel around the state. The real deal, for real New Mexican food.Dietary restrictions: Traditional ingredients in food, assume lard in beans and considerable salt.
I love all their food! The older lady waitress (cannot remember her name) is amazing, fast, kind, thoughtful. She gave us great service!!Kid-friendliness: Our server made sure our kids food was perfect. Put the enchiladas sauce on side.
My husband and I had dinner. The service was a little slow but worth the wait. I had the grilled chicken taco salad and my husband had the beef enchilada plate. The food was delicious we highly recommend.
The food was flavorful and hot (temperature). The service was great. It made a delightful start to my adventure in Roswell New Mexico. This place is Dreg approved.

I had some of the worst Mexican food ever here. The tacos were wrapped in tortillas that were dripping in oil, the refried beans were dried out and tasteless, and the rice might have been a day old grocery store variety. Just terrible. The tortilla chips and salsa were the exception; they were both tasty.A friend told me the chicken fried steak is very good. So maybe try that, but stay far away from the taco plate.

The food here was horrible. It was old, rancid, and contaminated. We didn't even finish our food because it was so off. We ended up getting sick in minutes of eating here. I would be careful eating here.
Recommended dishes: Chicken Fried Steak with Green Chili Stew, Enchilada Plate, Taco Salad, Chile Relleno
