One of the best meals we have had in a long time… so good we came back for a second meal on our weekend trip to Santa Fe. The service is friendly and knowledgeable, the food has so much flavor and depth. Can’t recommend it enough!

Saw a Santa Fe food group recommendation. The service, atmosphere and our dinners were FANTASTIC! Casa Chimayo is on my must go to list each and every time I come to Santa Fe. The table side guacamole and red pasoloe was AMAZING.

Server was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Obviously people here don’t appreciate my business so I don’t have to take his horrible attitude.

Amazing food! It’s very small inside. It was a busy night so we weren’t given many options as to where we could sit. We ended up being seated next to a table with screaming kids. Other than that it was great!

I was here once before with a friend and Joaquin, the order took our order and treated us so well - however a few days ago, i was there again with 2 women friends and we were treated very badly by Benina - we asked for separate checks 2 of us were paying cash and one was putting her amount on a card - Benina refused to accommodate us, saying that they no longer split checksWhen we said this was not what otger restaurants do, we were told to “ just go there then!” It was said loudly in front of many customers - maybe business is so good that this owner can afford to be rude and aggressive to customers - her behavior ruined our entire eveningI noticed that all other tables were couples and wondered if 3 mature women at a table could possibly be treated different from the other customers - id like to think not but this owner’s behavior was unacceptable and completely humiliating and disrespectfulShe lost the business of three very good local customers and their friendsMaybe she doesn’t care

This place has the best molé I’ve ever had. The recipes are from the owner’s late grandmother and are as authentic as it gets. I had the pibil enchiladas Christmas style, queso, and tres leches cake. All of it was rich in flavor and beyond satisfying. Plus the prices are fair, which is extraordinary given how delicious everything was!

Chimayo is good at TAKING reservations, but not KEEPING them (like the old Seinfeld episode). We arrived at 7:30 for our 7:30 reservations and had to wait in a narrow corridor, the only place available for anyone to wait. There were several other people also waiting and we were constantly asked if we could move aside by the staff since we were all standing between the kitchen and the dining area. The staff was very good at not making eye contact and we actually had to approach an employee to check in, 10 minutes after arriving. A few people who were waiting left. They apparently were locals and said that they had experienced this before. As far as I can tell reservations are meaningless. They take people in the order they come in regardless if they have reservations or not, since several people WITHOUT reservations were seated before us, since they arrived before us.The food was good, however there are a lot of restaurants with good Mexican food in Santa Fe.
