This little hidden gem in Santa Fe has been around since 1981. I had the local favorite, Carne Ardovada with Frijoles and it was outstanding. Get here early as they close at 7pm and they also serve breakfast. Quaint and cozy with local flair. I highly recommend it on your next tour in Santa Fe New Mexico!

The employee messed up the order severely and they ended up giving us “mystery meat” for the carne adovada. Ended up arguing with the owner/ manager about a refund and she stated “we gave you what you wanted” which is total nonsense. Worst establishment in Santa Fe; don’t know how such a crappy restaurant is still in business. Go to a different restaurant if you want real NM food, this stuff is garbage along with the owner.

Love this cute little spot in Santa Fe. There are lots of toy horses and things like that when you walk in. So cute! The food is straightforward and very good. It's nothing fancy to look at, but doesn't need to be because that's how food works.They were able to accommodate my vegan diet, which is super important to me, but I wouldn't say it's the kinda place set up for that. The dishes are very meat and dairy heavy, but at its core it's beans, tortillas, and vegetables - so that's vegan right? I got "Christmas" sauce (both are amazing) ❤️Overall, would recommend. Seems like a local favorite.Vegetarian options: You can modify things to make them vegan, but it's not straightforward. I still recommend because it's local and kitschy.

4/14/2024So grateful so grateful to have come here it’s a wonderful warm, inviting place. The staff is super friendly and the owners actually work at the restaurant. I asked him to just bring me something. The best thing they have and he did it without asking any questions which I am grateful for because I hadn’t eaten in 16 hours. He brought me the huevos rancheros steak special and it was very excellent and for dessert he brought me a surprise of Rice, cinnamon, and sugar. It was very good. I highly recommend coming here. They make real food and they are real friendly.I make it a point to promote small business by not eating at major chains. I look for one off and this is a diamond in the rough of the desert of the south Santa Fe area. I can’t imagine why anybody would eat at Denny’s when there are places like this around.Thank you for the wonderful conversation in stimulating and great food!!5 year old review:Very good. Horsemans Haven. This will be my last visit to your restaurant!!! I try my best to give my business to local establishments…. I walked into your restaurant at 1:45 today to order lunch, sat down and was ignored until 2:05 pm. At that time the owner, so she said comes up to me and tells me they are closed. I proceeded to to tell her we have been waiting for 15 minutes to order and nobody made mention to this as we walked in (that we could not be served)How easy they forget during COVID how we supported their establishment. AFTER THE RUDE INTERACTION NEVER AGAIN….

The woman who claimed to own this establishment was beyond rude and clearly doesn’t need local support. Last time here for us.
