Loved this place. I think maybe a new waitress when we were there and we got our food before my daughter because we had sushi and she has something from the kitchen—actually another customer got very upset and made a scene but I would definitely recommend this place. We’ll be back! Authentic Japanese sushi chef too ❤️

On a night that we wandered around near the Plaza for over half an hour looking for a place to eat without an hour wait we finally arrived at Izmi. Plenty of tables empty when we got there, although the place began to fill up as we were leaving. I've been on a chirashi binge lately and this was as good as any that I have had. Because of her slightly hesitant English I assumed that our lovely server was Japanese but, once again, my request for Chirashi or Chirazushi drew a blank. Maybe I really murder the pronunciation. But once I describe the dish and our server checks with the chef, another 5 star version appears in front of me. Peg had a killer tempura. The food was plentiful and great. Service was attentive.
Wow! Great atmosphere, good music, good service, excellent food at good price. Try the izmi roll, taste like Cheddar cheese and the taos roll taste like lobster Alfredo. Omg. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Santa Fe. Ding dong!!!

I’m sad to leave this review for a small local business, however, the food was absolutely bland and the service was extremely uncomfortable. To begin with the waitress refused to make eye contact when speaking to us and had no knowledge of the menu. Our appetisers came out, bland miso & bland salad with a splash of bottle dressing. We were super hungry after a 8 hour drive to get to Santa Fe so we had no choice but to eat the bland food. Our entrees came out which the waitress just threw on our table while looking at the ground and then just took our appetisers without even asking if we were done eating, they were both 1/4 eaten… my partner ordered the prawn tempura which was frozen prawns they were rubbery and gross. I ordered the steak teriyaki however it was thin meat offcuts. Terrible food I wish I didn’t spend $70 on this meal

Tried to go recently with a friend. Upon entering, no one looked at or greeted us. We sat down and waited ten minutes. No one looked at us and no service. Two employees lingered near the working sushi chef but didn’t serve anyone.Perplexing.
