Nestled in the heart of Taos, New Mexico, Doc Martin's exudes an air of rustic charm and culinary excellence that captures the essence of Southwestern cuisine. During our recent visit, we embarked on a gastronomic adventure that left us thoroughly impressed. We kicked off our culinary journey with the mushroom tacos—a flavorful symphony of earthy mushrooms, crisp vegetables, and zesty salsa, all nestled within warm tortillas. Each bite offered a delightful fusion of textures and flavors, setting the stage for what was to come.Next up was the trout, a dish that epitomizes the restaurant's commitment to fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Cooked to perfection, the tender flesh of the trout practically melted in our mouths, accompanied by a medley of vibrant flavors. However, the unexpected surprise of the trout's head adorning the plate might startle some diners, though it's a testament to the dish's authenticity and freshness.Throughout our meal, the service remained exemplary, with attentive staff ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. From recommendations on the menu to timely refills of our drinks, the team at Doc Martin's went above and beyond to cater to our needs. As we approached the finale of our meal, we indulged in a selection of desserts that showcased the restaurant's culinary prowess. From decadent chocolate lava cake to tart key lime pie, each dessert was a masterpiece in its own right, providing a sweet conclusion to our dining experience.

Was really looking forward to our dinner last night as we LOVE Doc Martin's and always try to go when we go up to Taos. Hostess was amazing and beautiful table and then super disappointing from there on out. Chili rellenos (signature dish) were burned and mediocre..taco wet in pico de gallo on plate and taco tortilla falling apart..elote corn was hard..dessert just okay..not the usual crowded Saturday night..I guess we didn't get the memo before coming..you guys need to do better from the kitchen side..highly disappointed..

My husband and I ate here for the third time on February 25th. We had good experiences in the past but this last time was very disappointing. We waited an hour just to get our food for a party of 2. The margarita had no flavor and the tamales were very dry. When we asked for the check, our server went behind the bar and made drinks for about 15 minutes before returning to our table. We will not go here again!

I was expecting a bit more interesting ambience from this historic location. The restaurant is kind of drab. The waitstaff was helpful and kept my water glass full at higher altitude. The enchiladas were plated with beans and rice all floating together just the way I most enjoy Mexican food. The menu, however, is somewhat limited to Mexican dishes. Prices were good by current Eastern standards.

We had reservations and immediately upon approaching the check in person, we were met with her shaking her head to indicate there were no tables available. She didn't even bother to first ask how she could help us. After informing her we had a reservation, she confirmed our time and said it would be a wait to set up a table for 2. We waited about 15 minutes after the reservation time to be seated. She said we needed to be understanding; usially the customer service is very good, but not this time. I will say our server was excellent.

As suggested by Taos Inn, we made our reservation for 5:30 pm. Only a few tables were occupied when we arrived and we had good service and great food! Towards the end of our dinner, more people arrived to eat so it was a little busier and a little more energetic. Really enjoyed our dinners and I ordered 2 silver margaritas which were super.....just the way I like them.

Doc Martin's is in one of the oldest buildings in Taos. Inside it is quirky and a bit labyrinthine. There is a separate bar called Adobe, and both operations, which use the same menu, are in The Taos Inn. If you don't know all this going in, you're likely to be as confused as we were. Although the Adobe Bar, where we went first to get some drinks, was very noisy (on top of the noisy atmosphere, there was live music), when we took our drinks into Doc Martin's, it was much calmer and quieter. The food was imaginative and delicious. The service was excellent.

We made an early reservation and were promptly seated in a nice little niche off the main dining area. Our server was very friendly. We ordered one cup of the special of the day, shrimp and sausage gumbo ($9.00). I had one spoonful and set it aside to send back as the rice was very undercooked (crunchy) and the broth was thin and flavorless. Our server apologized and said she would remove it from our bill. Next, we had the green chili pork stew which was almost devoid of any meat. The flavor was fine but nothing too exciting. We also had the ribeye fajitas ($37.00). While the flavor was good, we were essentially served a bbl lot of peppers and onions with approximately 1/8 lb of ribeye. For $37.00, that's just outrageous. When our bill arrived, the server had not removed the gumbo. After about 10 minutes, she came to the table and explained she forgot to remove it. She was very nice and apologetic. The best part of the experience was our drinks. They have a very nice Italian red for under $9.00 and a tasty house special margarita ($13.00). We will discourage anyone from wasting their evening at Doc Martin's.

The carne asada, blue corn cheese enchiladas, tacos, and the perfect margarita's were delicious! I wish they had a cookbook to get the recipe for the dishes, especially the cheese enchilada given we live in the Northeast.

Came here for Valentines Day while in town. Our server Michael was fantastic. He was really on top of it. He made sure we had an awesome experience at Doc Martin's. Thanks again for making our night, Michael! The relleno appetizer is so good! We highly recommend it!

Came for dinner. Had a very nice meal and the portions are huge. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have live music every night in the lobby. Worth a visit.

It was super mid. Over priced and under delivered. Saw our waitress once at the beginning and when to collect the check. We tipped out the busier as he was WAY more attentive. I heard great stuff and it was not what was described to me.

Restaurant would not allow our 22 year olds to order alcohol even though they had valid IDs Service was a bit slow Food was great, margaritas were good but served in wrong glasses.
