Cafes in Truth Or Consequences

Black Cat Books and Coffee Cafe •
128 N Broadway St, Truth or Consequences

“Black Cat has shrunk and there are fewer books to browse and tables to sit at. However, its revival is still a great joy and a welcome resource. We’re so lucky to have it back! The dark roast is good, there are a variety of treats, and the new proprietors are friendly and open to suggestions. I like being able to see out the windows more, with the book display shelves removed. It’s lighter, and there are some very nice houseplants in the window. I’d like to have fresh rather than packaged pastries, but this is a start-up and it takes time to make it all work.“

“My friend and I came here to get coffee and catch up.The coffee here is very good.It doesn't taste bitter or burnt. My friend and I each got a small blueberry pie. It was quite big for one person, but we each finished ours. We probably could have shared one, but it's easy to eat a big portion of blueberry pie. It was so delicious! All of the baked goods here are very, very good. I've never had any pastry here that I didn't like.If you don't want to fill up only only sugar and coffee, there's a menu of "real food" too.It can be a little noisy here because it's a hot spot for having coffee and catching up.Vegetarian options: There are definitely vegetarian options available.Dietary restrictions: There are usually gluten free pastry options available. The pastries go fast, so don't be surprised if you get there late and all the gluten free options are gone.I also believe you can get plant based milks in your beverages.Parking: Passion Pie does not have a parking lot. You have to park on the street. Street parking is often taken in the block Passion Pie is on. You may have to park a ways away and walk. Try parking around the corner on Foch Street.Kid-friendliness: You can bring your kids here, but it's a coffee shop mostly. It's not a place that's unfriendly to kids, but it's not a place that caters to kids.“

“Nice little cafe in T or C. Fresh, well prepared and tasty meals. The service was friendly and fun. We had breakfast there two times. The biscuit and sausage gravy with hatch peppers was out of this world. This place has real local charm.Parking: Street parking, was not busy on the weekends. Also parking lots nearby.Wheelchair accessibility: The entire restaurant and patio are sidewalk level.“
