Over all good Valentine's Day meal. Food was delicious as always. Service was slow and had to ask a few different servers for our bread and waters. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and not organized.

Opted for the pasta bar. Meal cost $103 + tax n tip. Service good but meal disappointing. Pastas were cold, cheese cake taste like right out of a box, Caesar was poor and mussels didn’t have accompanying melted butter. Roles and apple torte were good.

We got pasta here for the 1st time in a long time and things have changed. The caesar salad was so strong that it was inedible and the pasta with the Chicken Parm was tasteless, soggy and drab, although the chicken itself was ok. Not sure what's changed but we were very disappointed. Tiramasu is still good.

Staff was excellent…food was not the Chicken Parm was flavourless and the haddock had a distinct fishy smell on arrival obviously not fresh….Vines was always excellent in the past…it seems to have gone downhill…sadly we won’t be back…..

We picked up take out last Tuesday and the quality was the worsts it’s every been in the ~15 years we have been eating here. It’s been inconsistent at times but usually some of the items we order are great. Alfredo sauce was bland and separated (i didn’t even want to eat my leftovers!), Caesar salad portion was scarce and barely no sauce or toppings. We miss the quality we were used to visit after visit.

This is my mother’s favourite restaurant and she couldn’t wait to take me for dinner during my visit to Dartmouth. I had the best seafood pasta in the world and I can confirm, as my mother always claims, the ceasar salad is the best. They serve warm delicious bread to enjoy while waiting for your main dish. Our server Janna made our visit even more amazing as she was very engaging and friendly. We will return each time we are in town,Dietary restrictions: Celiac friendly restaurant. They went above and beyond to ensure gluten free meals were safe.

The food…it was so bad. I feel bad even writing this but how do you not know how bad the food is? Our server was great.

Tried Vines for the first time last Saturday for my wife's birthday. It was a disappointing experience, to say the least. To start, as soon as we got out of our car we were hit with an overwhelming smell of garlic - it smelled like we were bathing in it.Service was super slow, and definitely not the service you'd expect from an expensive restaurant. We waited more than 30 minutes for our starter, for example. The food was pretty bad, actually. We had shrimp as an appetizer - so soaked in garlic they were basically inedible. Then our meals finally came (an hour after we arrived). I had a dish called "Tour of Italy", which was the same super garlicy sauce over Fetuccini, chicken parm, and a piece of lasagna. The lasagna tasted very different, as though it had middle eastern or Indian spices instead of Italian. Worst lasagna I have ever had. The chicken parm was good, so one out of three items were edible. When it was time to leave, we spent about 20 minutes trying to get our bill, and then had to stand in a long lineup of about 15 people to wait until we could pay the bill and leave. It felt like we were in a McDonalds lineup. At the cash, I mentioned that they might want to consider getting a few more card machines (apparently they had only one for the entire restaurant), and was met with an owner or manager that argued about the lack of service with me. Absolutely unacceptable to argue with a complaining customer who had just had such a poor experience. We will never be back, for sure. It will take days for the garlic smell and taste, which seemed to permeate all of the food and the restaurant itself like the odour of death. I like garlic....I just don't need to bathe in it.Strongly NOT recommended!
