Great evening. We did dine around, as a party of four we did different combinations of food. Cocktails were enjoyable, waitress assisted with suggestions and was very polite and kind. Thanks

I was so disappointed in this restaurant. We went Saturday night at 7pm and there was only one other couple in the entire restaurant- first bad sign. The lights were full brightness which killed the ambiance. We ordered oysters and they arrived in takeaway ramekins- for the price point, this is completely unacceptable. The oysters were super small and simply not good. We also ordered the lobster pasta and it was salty mac and cheese with lobster on top. There are so many great restaurants in the city- I’d skip this one!

Myself and friends came to five fishermen’s to enjoy some drinks one evening on the town, we sat at the bar and our bartender Andrea quickly greeted us with a smile and helped us with our drink order. We ordered some of the new holiday drink specials and also got her to make us drinks with her creative freedom tailored to what we enjoy, everything we had tasted amazing and the drinks looked beautiful! Andreas serving standards were above and beyond, she ensured our experience was personal and tailored for our night out and will definitely be returning for more delicious drinks by her!

I’ve only been to the this restaurant once but it was one of the best experiences I’ve had for drinks! The place is extremely nice with amazing bar staff. I didn’t plan to drink much so I sat at the bar with a friend of mine who lives out of town. We were served a few drinks by a bartender named Andrea who was very respectful and very quick at getting us our orders. Not knowing much about the cocktails, Andrea helped us choose ones we would probably like and she didn’t disappoint! She greeted us with a smile and had an amazing attitude the whole evening serving us. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone at anytime!

A couple of glasses of fizz for our anniversary got things off to a flying start. This is high end dining at its finest. Tuna tartare and perfect crab cakes to start, then local salmon and shrimp & sausage tagliatelle, which sounds odd but was scrumptious. A local white wine recommended by our knowledgeable waiter helped everything along. Merci Kristen.

Atmosphere and service ?Food ?The kitchen forgot to add crackers to the cheese plate so it was served with just cheese, not a lot of selection other than Seafood, and the burger that most of our party ordered was too spicy for everyone.BUT loved the atmosphere and the staff were great.

Lovely ambience, attentive waitstaff and good food. We ordered the Five Fisherman Experience. Everything was delicious and fresh, a nice sampling of different seafood. The only issue was the lobster tail was overdone to the point I could not remove the meat from the shell and had to pick at it. The mushroom risotto was spot on, earthy and delicious.

staff were professional and attentive. erin is a very good server. food was delicious. however, the experience was lessened by the presence of a mouse in the dining room. not hiding away but literally scampering around for minutes and was noticed by several other patrons as well. we let our server who said she would inform the manager. shortly thereafter, the lights were dimmed making it more difficult to see the still present mouse. the manager did not come to the table to discuss the matter. it was dismissed as if that was normal. while waiting for a ride in the doorway several more mice were observed around the patio deck with a couple entering they restaurant. shame because everything else was very good.

We started with mussels and truffle fries. Both very good, especially the aioli that came with the fries. For mains we had the lobster dish (all claw meat) and the Salmon. Both cooked perfectly and good portions. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and prices, for a dinner out in downtown Halifax, were reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Visiting from Toronto. Made reservations, reached 10 minutes before time. Were requested to wait. Meanwhile we checked the menu and chose our order, only to find out that the menu we chose from was 5 Socials and our reservation was for 5 Fisherman, which is upstairs through the same staircase. We came back to 5 Social and were seated right away. Took a server 15 minutes to come for our order even though it wasn't busy. Food though, came in really fast. Was good, just like it should be. While we were eating, we saw a mouse; horrified we called the attendant and showed it to them. The way she reacted looked and sound like it was a daily sight. Nothing happened. 5 minutes later, we saw a giant spider on the fake plants which were next to our seats at the back. We were so disgusted that we left without having/ordering dessert. I understand bar and food places are difficult to keep clean but then when you charge so much on everything, you MUST use that money on keeping the property fully clean and clear of creepy crawlers and mice/rats etc. I really wanted to try and left thoroughly disappointed and disgusted!!

I had a wonderful dinner here. From the menu description, so I don’t misquote, I had: CAPE D’OR SALMON Sun-dried tomato espuma, compressed daikon, cauliflower & kale, bagna cauda butter, chive & lemon beurre blanc Incredible! Rustic yet elegant. Sauce was amazing but not overpowering. Pickled daikon was excellent with no heavy vinegar taste. Best cauliflower I ever ate. Cooked perfectly. Asked for a piece of bread so the last remnants of sauce were not wasted and they brought me a piece of toasted foccacia with extra sauce on it. Five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Special thank you to server Kristen and chefs Dave and Spencer for a great evening. I highly recommend this restaurant when in Halifax.

We were extremely disappointed last evening when we had 8pm reservations at Five Fishermen. Upon arrival, having reservations and noting many open tables, we were shown to a high top for two in the corner next to a hallway to the kitchen/restroom s. When we asked to be seated, we were told we could not be accommodated. We chose to leave and subsequently had a wonderful dinner (without reservations) at The Press Gang!

Enjoyed probably some of the tastiest seafood and fish that I have ever tasted. Together with a lovely bottle of Canadian wine and great service from very friendly and helpful staff, I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

This is the perfect place for a late evening repast. We enjoyed the crab cakes and the tuna tartar. Both were very fresh and extremely flavorful. Christina, our wise and informed wait person, was helpful with menu and drink selections and helped us celebrate our wedding anniversary with dessert and a red rose. The restaurant has brick walls and rich woodwork, making it an inviting and relaxing place to dine. Highly recommended.
