I'm a big jerk chicken and patty lover. I have been craving Jerk chicken, with rice and peas side of cole slaw, drizzled with oxtail gravy and patties since moving here from Toronto. I was excited to try out the Jamaican joints here. My order (Uber Eats) - I ordered:- 2 Oxtail Gravy sauce- 2 Patties and a Pop - Tallawah!Beef patty • Chicken patty • Diet Coke- 1 (BUY 1 GET 1 FREE) Jerk Chicken and Rice!Chicken was a bit confusing and deceiving mentions "2 for 1" but it's actually 2 snack size boxes, not sure why that's the case. The chicken was really boney, very few meats portions, looked dry and old, You can tell because it doesnt fall apart and the meat has become tough for sitting to long in a heat to keep it warm. The chicken had. a good amount of spice, but unfortunately came short of the savoury depth, which the spice overwhelmed due to the lack of flavours there.The chicken was charred all over (black chicken) where the sauce/marinate was complete burnt/over caramalized rather than a nice even char and brown mix throughout.Portion wise, the cole slaw ratio was about a pinch portion.The slaw was more on the boiled/steamed vegetable side, similar to vegetables from a soup rather than the creamy mixed fresh salad I was expecting. The rice and peas - lacked peas, rice was dry and clunky.Oxtail gravy was decent, more on the oily side and less of a sauce - but it adds moisture to the rice and chicken which was lacking in moisture and depth.The patties were good - but not the texture I'm used to getting. The one I had felt more like baklava where the layers flakes apart. Overall the patty despite the unfamiliar texture for a patty (personally, im sure there are other variations), the flavours were there and it was my favorite of the orders. (though over priced at $5 each)I cannot speak to in person dining, but I may be interested in coming by in person to try one day.I hate to give bad reviews to mom and pup shops esp learning about the changes/challenges they undergo with personal life & quality control. I assume the owners are passionate foodies and I have heard good things from long time customers and ongoing feedback, as of right now, that has been my experience on the "ordering out" side.2 stars due to disappointed texture, flavour, portions - 1 extra for understandable circumstance. I would try again, in hopes of getting a better experience/taste for the real quality that I feel like could be there.Hope everyone else enjoys the food they offer. best of luck to the owners on their continued culinary journey!

Opted to use Uber Eats for my meal delivery. I ordered the rice and peas, but was disappointed by what was delivered. The rice is very old, indicating that they didn't want to make a fresh batch of rice and peas. Additionally, the taste was unbearable. Surprisingly, I received two orders, both lacking any sign of peas. I do not recommend this place and would give it 0 stars if possible. This was the worst food I have ever eaten.

The food was delicious but unfortunately the portion of oxtail was very stingy. Ordered a large portion and got maybe 3-4 bites of meat tops, mostly bone. The whole thing was 99% rice, which is pretty disappointing for over $20 a plate. The jerk chicken was amazing, and quite a bit more generous with 3 leg/thigh pieces in a large portion.

Brawta makes amazing and delicious food. The owners are amazing, and provide excellent food and service. This is easily a 5-star restaurant- when they're there.Here's the (big) problem: if you get anyone but the owner and her family, the level of service- and sometimes the quality of the food- drops to a point that simply makes going a waste of time. We were regulars, but stopped going because the owners are seldom in when we order, and everything is bad unless they're there. Mistakes in ordering, absurd delays in getting your food, burnt food, random ingredients just thrown into dishes on a whim. It just keeps going. It's not one visit, but EVERY visit.I know staffing is tough these days, but in this case it's hurting the business. The entire staff needs to be either extensively trained or let go.

Oxtails, rice and beans, Jamaican beef patty, fried plantains, and jamaicas national dish ackee and salt fish only served on sundays. Love it, you have to try it, oxtail is the most tender meat I ever had. Curry goat is good too, it's all good. A bit pricey, but it's worth the price.

The service is great. We have been going there very often for more than a year. The last time we were there the gravy was watered down and had no taste. The food didn't taste like real Jamaican oxtail. We spent over $65 in food. If you don't have enough to make two double plates just say so we would understand. Honestly I threw the food out when we went home and it was a waste of our money coming from Sackville to your restaurant twice a month. We were very disappointed and will not be coming again.
