For first timers to the restaurant, it was a great experience! I did find the music a tad loud, so I was having trouble holding a conversation with my partner, but otherwise I loved it. My partner's only complaint was that he wasn't asked if he wanted a second drink, even though I was offered one. Our server was lovely, though!

Our server acted as if he did not want to be there. The food was certainly frozen and far from the description of the menu. I spent four hours on the toilet within 30 minutes of leaving the restaurant. Absolutely horrendous food and would not recommend it to homeless people!

Everything was amazing, food was impeccable and our server Scott was attentive and helpful. I noted my wife's birthday on the reservation and they delivered. I had not been there in years and I wanted a place to deliver an unforgettable experience for my wife and they were a home run.

While the restaurant had the ambient noise of a hopping Saturday night service, we were accommodated with a quiet table on the far side of the bar. So thoughtful. Thank you! Dinner was delicious, as always.

The food was good. Priced a little high but the service and ambiance were worth the extra cost. We had a lovely evening right from the moment we entered the restaurant, until we left. Very accommodating!

Out of all the restaurants in the city, this is our most favourite. It never disappoints. Our server was excellent, and we appreciated the excellent care in ensuring my severe mustard allergy was looked at in our food choices.

Being on the lower floor is a little bit crammed, but otherwise amazing experience & amazing food!!!

da Maurizio disappointed us on multiple levels. We both found the server to be pretentious, with no warmth or apparent genuine hospitality. The appetizer course was good, the pasta course acceptable, while the main course was bland and forgettable. Both the lamb and halibut lacked any significant flavour, were overdone, and poorly presented. We expected a top of the line Italian experience, and left wishing we had kept to our long enjoyed Bicycle Thief. Both my dinner companion and I travel extensively, and enjoy experiencing the best that local restaurateurs have to offer. Neither of us felt that da Maurizio was of that caliber, nor that it merited a return trip.

My lamb shank was done to perfection and my wife's pasta dish was extremely tasty. The Barolo was well paired with our meal and the service was great. If you're looking for a quiet table for two, ask to sit downstairs.

Asked for beef tenderloin medium rare but it was over cooked. Total bill was over $200. Staff were not friendly. It took long for us to be seated even with a reservation and no one said bye to us when leaving even though all of the staff were gathered at the exit. Overall nothing about the experience would prompt us to come back

The best service I've had in a very long time. All the service staff were amazing. We enjoyed our dinners very much. My partner had the Dine around menu and it was fantastic value. Wine selection also was fantastic. We sat in a small room with a rather loud table next to us. But it didn't take away from our fabulous date night.

A great anniversary dinner for my girlfriend and I. Excellent and friendly service. The lamb was excellent as was all of the food we ordered. Still a great Halifax tradition and I'd recommend to all! :-)

Honestly ignore any reviews under 5 stars. This place is the best fine dining place in the city. I've been to a few "fine dining" places in the city and most just pander to tourists, or are just slightly fancy pubs. This place is genuinely good. If you want to take your partner on a "knock your socks off" date, this is the spot. The place feels very high class. The atmosphere is so relaxed and romantic. The food is always immaculate as well. (I highly recommend the mussels as an appetizer) and the staff are very friendly and do their job perfectly every time. They're also very willing to accommodate dietary restrictions, in my experience. (I can't have alcohol in my food)It's right by the waterfront too. Go for a stroll on the waterfront before your reservation and it'll make for the perfect date.Dietary restrictions: I can't have alcohol (even food cooked with alcohol) and every time I've gone, they always been more than willing to accommodate and make my dish without it!Kid-friendliness: Please don't bring your kids here. The atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic. If you bring your kids here, other customers will be upset with you for ruining the vibe. (Including me)

The evening was very good. There are no negatives, food was amazing as always. However, 2 menu items were charged differently than stated on the menu when brought to attention, no change was made.

Thanks

We came in for Valentine's Day. It was a very nice atmosphere, and the service was good. But the food was underwhelming. I didn't feel that what we were served was worth the price tag.
