The resturant was almost empty , still we needed to wait over 40 min , portions were very small , as an example gyro cost 22$ was the smallest warp ever. It came with smallest french frize , . Potatoes weren't good . Only dish that was very good was the musaka . Definitely disappointed as reviews are

Greek Taverna is Wonderful & one of my favourite places to eat in Bayer's Lake/Halifax.It is an affordable restaurant with a romantic feel of Greece.The service is always great and the food is exceptional.I Recently went on Valentine's Day. I did reserve a table and the place was packed full so that's always a good idea to book ahead.We ordered the appetizer plate and that was a meal in itself for two people. But we still decided to get a main, both getting the pastitsio. Everything was so good and fresh.Service was Great !I'll continue to return to ela! frequently as it never disappoints.

We went to Ela for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and loved every minute of it! Sandy, you were better than we have ever experienced in a restaurant! Thank you for helping us celebrate two of the most amazing humans ever! She brought us a plate full of very dessert "On the House"! We even gave her big HUGS when we left! What an incredible person! ♥️

Underwhelming first time at this restaurant. I ordered the 'stuffed peppers' and was disappointed. The portion size .. 1 small red pepper stuffed with mushy rice for $22? The quantity and quality of the food is not worth the price. There is better greek food spots in HRM - would not recommend this one.

Went to Ella last night with my son, used to go frequently years ago and thought we’d try again. Food has changed! Everything was cold, kalamari especially. Spanakopita was alright, however when the main dishes came out, the moussaka and passitio, it was obviously old the top was so hard it was burnt almost, it was cold inside, obviously made a while ago and reheated, not fresh and dry! The greek salad had no olive oil! I had to ask for a side of olive oil! Absolutely terrible and the bill was pricey and totally not worth it for some reheated leftovers nothing was fresh! This place has gone down, nothing like it was years ago! Will not be coming back!
