Bought chicken biriyani from them, it tasted amazing and the staff were accommodating with flavour profile as well even though we ordered last minute.

Called around 7:30pm to see if they were open. I didn’t get an answer, I figured they ‘Mite of been busy. Showed up around 8pm but they were completely closed even though online says 9pm…

The food in this restaurant was good. However, it alters the GST/HST to 20% on their own. I called and asked for the reason. The staff on the phone just replied "it may be a mistake. You can come and I can fix it."From the break down on the bottom of my receipt, i guess the garlic naan was counted as 15%, and the other two dishes were counted as 20%. Why your restaurant can set the tax rate to 20% for some of the dishes by yourself?I wonder how prevalent this is across the city. It must add up to quite a sum and no one realises. It is illegal.I strongly hope that customers can check their bills before payment. Famous Curry Garden please don't make any alteration on the GST/HST, which should be 15%.

One star because we’ve never been able to eat here. My husband, his parents and I tried to go back in mid-december. It was closed - okay, maybe they closed early for the holidays. Called, no voicemail, no pick up (and nothing on social media).Fast forward to tonight - February 9th. My husband tried calling three times, now answer. We live in the neighbourhood so we thought to walk there just in case. They were, of course, closed. No snow removal had been done whatsoever. I fear this place is closed.

Ordered paneer tikka masala which had a thick layer of oil on it and too much red food color. Chilli garlic naan had chilli flakes instead of green chilli which is crazy. The only thing half decent was vada pav.

Sub par butter chicken and the worst biryani i’ve ever had. FYI just putting some chicken in rice does not make it biryani. They gave me rice with some curry chicken mixed in.

Hidden Gem for Authentic Indian CuisineWhat a delightful discovery! I recently ordered from this Indian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity and quality of their food.Chicken Biriyani (5/5):The Chicken Biriyani was an absolute delight. It boasted the perfect blend of flavors and came in a generous portion. Not only was it delicious, but it was also the most affordable biriyani I've found in Halifax without compromising on quality.Spinach Pakoras (5/5):The spinach pakoras felt homemade and packed a delightful punch of spices. They added a homey, comforting touch to the meal.Vada Pav (5/5):The Vada Pavs were huge in portion as it states in the name. The inclusion of green chili was a pleasant bonus. Each bite transported to the streets of India, and couldn't have been happier with the taste.Paneer Tikka Masala (4/5):I found the Paneer Tikka Masala to be a bit too rich for my taste, however it had the biggest chunks of tasty paneers compare to any other places in Halifax. If you're in the mood for exceptional Indian cuisine that won't break the bank, this place should be at the top of your list.

I recently dined at famous curry Garden and enjoyed a delightful experience. The new Indo Chinese additions were a hit, with dishes like Bombay BHEL and Manchurian Fried Rice impressing us with their flavorful fusion. The Papdi aloo Chat retained its amazing taste, although the chutney had a new twist. The only disappointment was the Bombay Style Pav Bhaji, which fell a bit flat in comparison. The service was excellent, and despite a minor miss, famous Curry Garden remains a place to explore inventive flavors.
