Ok so this place was pretty good and the prices are good/they had some really good deals going on from what I remember. But during one of their specials we took advantage of, we got a shrimp roll and one of the shrimp wasn’t devained. Completely turned me off and never ordered again. I’m sure they were just busy trying to handle all the promo orders but yeah, no thanks.

One of the best sushi spots in town! Hands down! Service is ALWAYS exceptional and they go ABOVE AND BEYOND every single time. Our lunch group can be quite large at times, and they always accommodate us when we arrive on Fridays. The food is delicious, but the service makes the experience that much better. When we went on Valentine's day, they even gave our group CUPCAKES! If you haven't tried Hokkai, I highly recommend it. Prices are so reasonable, service is amazing and food is absolutely delicious!

The food was excellent quality, and service was very good. We had seven different rolls and three different appetizers, and were really impressed by how fresh the ingredients were. The green tea is loose-leaf, and the ice cream portions are generous. Now (Oct-Nov 2019) they have a stamp card to collect towards a free roll, and several coupons that they give out at the end of the meal. I definitely recommend eating here.

We had the sweet dreams roll and tropical roll to start. The rolls where high quality and the fresh wasabi was interesting, it had an almost play dough like texture. The decor was very cute and the place was clean. At the end of the meal we got two complimentary hand rolls, which were honestly the best hand rolls I have eaten. They had tamago strips in them, which are an almost custard like egg dish. With the sweet sauce it made for a yummy dessert. It was a bit on the pricy side, so if I went back it would be for their lunch roll combos, because for super they don't have anything price or taste wise to distinguish them from other sushi places.

Staff seem disengaged. Went at 8:30pm to order, but was advised they were closed... even though that was not what it seemed like, and the advertised closing time was 9:30pm. If the staff don't want to work beyond a certain time, judging by them playing with their electronic devices, how about changing the advertised opening hours to better manage expectations?

What a lovely place! We visited for the first time today and will definitely be back. The staff is very polite and the service is wonderful. The food is fresh and delicious! We tried some different types of sushi and were very pleased. We had a green tea banana split for dessert and it was very good. The decor is clean and pretty. It’s also in a very convenient location if you’re downtown. The prices are very reasonable and comparable to other Japanese restaurants. Make sure to check it out here! You won’t be disappointed.
