PMQ Restaurant

We were happy to find the place from a friend's accommodation. We love German food. We had a sub-par experience once and told the owner. The owner was quick to fix the issues. My favourites are their Schweinshaxe, Sauerbraten und Gulaschsuppe. Their Schnitzels are well-seasoned with good choices of optional gravy. I also always miss Spätzle, so am glad they usually come as sides to main dishes. German food can be heavy, so appreciate the slightly acidic Blaukraut. Cozy ambience.

Sooooo nice to have a proper German food place in Halifax. Pure comfort food. Rich and filling. Forget your diet or healthy eating plans here. Staff were great and food was delicious. We even had dessert, which is a rarity for me.Be warned, it's a heritage building ... aka freezing cold in winter. Like, see your breath in the bathroom cold. It was the same when it was chives. Great service. Highly recommend the pretzel and their unique tasting burger (Burgermeister). Great prices for a downtown restaurant as well.**The night we went, it seemed that the heating system wasn’t working well enough to warm up the dining area.
