For my money, it's the upper tier of places to grab a brew in Halifax. The space is phenomenal, the atmosphere impeccable and the food & beer is a bit elevated in price compared to your standard pub, but it's always well worth its jump in taste.

I was at the Freehouse last night and was shocked to find when I went to close out my tab they had negligently given my credit card to another patron. Now I’m stuck going through the hassle of replacing my card. Can’t recommend it’s worth the risk when their staff lacks the competence to handle a simple tab system. I won’t be back.

We stopped in during our Halifax tour on the Hop on Hop Off Bus. Small menu but we thoroughly enjoyed our food. Nachos were excellent (I read a review that said they were bland but we disagree - they were delish). We also had the chicken sandwich and it was great. Will definitely return on our next trip to Halifax.
Not going to rush back. No table service the day we were there. Had to order at the bar. I had a burger that was overpriced and underwhelming. Was super flat beef that was about 1/8 thick. They don't even give you a side with the $15 burger.

A busy and happening spot in the North End. Not all of the bartenders are super knowledgeable about the beers on tap, which I think is essential in a place like this, but I know is difficult with them rotating frequently.

Honestly the best pub food I've ever had. Fresh, delicate and incredibly tasty (and tasteful). The atmosphere is very unpretentious too. I enquired, the kitchen is a one-person operation... Incredible feat.
