Have been here several times, but spaced out over about 20 yrs. Most recent visit was last night about 7pm, a Thursday evening in December. Went in to place a take-out order to bring back to my office with a coworker for a bit of catch-up. There were two tables taken in the dining room. I would guess seating capacity for 80? The atmosphere is what you expect for most Chinese restaurants around here, with the normal decor, carpeting, basic tables. Seems well maintained, clean, and actually noticeably cozy this visit, with lower lighting and the back seating area closed off. It wasn't overly warm, but comfortable. I was greeted within maybe 30 seconds by the owner or manager, who was friendly. I took a take-out menu and explained I was looking for one of the standard "Canadian combos" that we've grown up with in NS. He pointed me right to that section, mentioning that you can add another item to the plate for $5. So I ordered the combination A meal, with an extra. Came to $19 something after tax. It was ready perhaps 11 or 12 mins, as expected. Took it to the office and generally enjoyed chowing down on the sweet & sour chicken balls (5 or 6 of them, a bit hard but still tasty and no complaints), rice ok/good, chow mein good/ok with liquid at the bottom as expected due to gravity of the styrofoam container, egg roll also similar to what you get at many Chinese restaurants locally (crispy, decent shell, with a brown substance inside). Although nothing blew me away here, I wasn't turned off. I'd go back, preferably at night where it seemed, again, very cozy.

Worst place in earth. Bad food, bad service, nothing is edible. Bathroom horrible, place has lot of flies. Plates were dirty, worst lo mein, not worth a dime, portions are tiny.DO NOT COME HERE. Go to McDonalds instead or go to ChinaTown, wayyy better.

Great food. Had Orange beef, Shredded Chicken with garlic and steamed rice. Owner/chef was super friendly and helpful. Was sad to see we were the only patrons at the time. Place was nicely decorated and clean. Lots of parking. Lots of choice in menu. Will be back.

Awful food...just run away. Not one dish was edible. The server was the cook as well. We were not shy in telling the waiter/ cook that the meal was not edible. We also should have been wary when we went in and we were the only table there. The fish tank was empty of water and the tables were shoved into the middle of the room. The were 4 of us and we all tried each of the 4 dishes we had ordered before moving them to the table beside ours. Just terrible, over salted and the cooking oil should have been changed months ago. We were presented with the bill accompanied by extremely stale fortune cookies. $98.00 dollars with no tip. The staff offered absolutely nothing to make our experience any better. Just terrible.

I was very disappointed. The food at Zen was great years ago. The food was all very salty (probably MSG) and the plum sauce tasted funny. The egg rolls tasted like the oil in the deep fryer hasn't been changed for awhile.

Went tonight to order take out. Sign said open, doors were locked. I called to ask if they were open. Someone answers, said 10 minutes and then hung up. I definitely won’t be back.
Had not been for quite some time but am I ever glad I did, I ordered the general Tao , it was excellent, crispy and flavourful, and the rice was very tasty as well. Wish more people would remember them , it's local , well worth a visit

My friend and I went for lunch here yesterday. When I discovered the host was also the server, cook and cashier I was a bit nervous. However he was friendly and patient with us. The food was delicious. Not sure how he does it on his own but he does a great job!!

Walking into an empty restaurant at 5pm is the first red flag. The second was an uncooked egg roll on a take out order then wiping my hands after handling the greasy menu. Would like to give them a second chance however my stomach would never forgive me after that concoction.Fong Sing is always my go to but unfortunately they were closed that day.Never again.

Did take out. Had to pay cash. Worst meal ever, we could not eat the food. Should have taken it back. On its way to compost bin.Dietary restrictions: Asked for and was told could do no msg. On top of how awful the food was quite sure msg was used.
Parking: As part of a shopping complex, there's plenty of parking
