The 2nd Indian restaurant I've tried while visiting Sydney over the holidays 2022 and definitely better than the other place tried, not to be named. Here was empty at about 6:30 on Boxing Day. A handful of basic tables, casual atmosphere, lighting quite bright. Friendly server. The first thing my friend ordered (a Tandoori item) was not available. I ordered Palak Chicken and was told they had to ask if it was available. Not a great first impression, but luckily mine was available in the end. It was your standard stainless steel serving dish with side of rice, flavorful and decent. I asked for spicy, and it was, but not overly. My friend ended up ordering the chicken curry, I believe, and was happy with it. We also ordered a butter naan and garlic naan, but both seemed identical, were ok/bit greasy. I was very full and couldn't finish mine. My main suggestions would be to dim the lights a tad at night, have staff mention any unavailable items when the menu is brought to the table initially, and increase bathroom cleanliness/marks all over the walls. I'd come here again if I lived in Sydney, to try more items, probably at lunch or for take-out.

We ordered something for breakfast on the phone at 1045 and they said it was closed but they took they order and said u will get it at 1115 once they r open. We reached there by 1120 and the my said that it will take another 30 mins.if they are busy with something else they should have said NO as it would have saved our time. This is not the first time it’s happening to us. We love the food there, but they have to improve their customer service.

Poor customer service and unprofessional staff behaviour (By the manager). A person of the restaurant (swagath sydney)who worked the night of November 30th was unfriendly and quite insulting towards the guest. He replied to us that he was the manger when we asked If we could see the manager.A friend who was with me had asked the manager to increase the heater a little as it was cold and the manager replied that they had no heating vents, which was clearly a lie as they had a air conditioning system which was visible to everyone. The manager brought unsanitary and unclean plates for us (which had visible stains on it)to eat from and we requested if he could wash it to which the manager replied “NO”. After that, while we were eating, the manager started to sweep the floor with a dust sweep very close to us making it unhealthy and difficult for us to eat with the dust in the air.I told him that I’ve been a resident of Sydney from 2019 and Ive been a longtime customer of swagath and never have I ever complained about anything, and I let him know about that so he could see his fault.I let the manger knew it was a bad service and my friend asked him respectfully why he was sweeping dust next to us (while eating)to which the manager replied “If you don’t like the service, go and don’t come back” . This proved to me that Swagath, if run by this manager in question, will insult their guests, provide them unhealthy and unsanitary food service and ask them to leave the place. Apart from that, I have no complaints about swagath, its an awesome success story and used to be a great restaurant until yesterday(November 30th).

Worst tiffin service ever. My friend opt for tiffin service and she is getting her food almost every day at night around 10pm. Some time may later around 11.50. and they will keep your food out side without calling you. Never ever go with swagat.

I have been enjoying Swaagat since it first opened, and have always had a good experience. But the last couple of visits have shown that standards are slipping. Dishes that have always been favourites are not available (today it was the pakora, the paneer dishes and the rahfooza) and since the menu can now be accessed only via QR code, the printed menu is no longer accurate. And would it hurt to place napkins and water on the table without being asked? The service was very slapdash today. Typical for Cape Breton, but not what we have come to expect from Swaagat. But what let you down the most was the door to the washroom being open - I did not enjoy the view of an open toilet bowl from my table. It doesn't look hygienic and I'm pretty sure there should be an extra door between the toilet and the dining area. Please shape up, Swaagat!

I ordered veg pulao and paid $17 in the hope that i will get something tasty with veggies in it. But it tastes like i am eating food of a sick person it has no taste. Also only has peas, onion and 3 very small cubes of paneer. Rice were very sticky. Definitely not a worth for $17

Excellent food and service ! this was definitiely one of the best Indian restaurant that we visited in Nova Scotia. Small place but the food was excellent and the service was kind. We ordered the tandoori chicken, some naans, chicken korma and rice and the flavors were so good. Would definitiely love to be back again if we are in the area !

Worst experience ever! Delivered to me in a very bad condition! When i call them that my curry is all spilled the customer representative directly in a very harsh way said thats not their fault ! I mean you should indicate the delivery person that it has a curry inside it and you should handle it carefully! Instead of that argued with me and said that he can't do anything! Awful experience! What would you expect that you have nothing to eat whole day long and you get such persons who dont have the courtesy to exchange the meal! I am student and along with that one should know that each penny counts!Never recommended

Stopped by here for dinner last night after a long day of travel. The server was amazing and recommended us good vegetarian options and gave special instructions to chef. The order took sometime since they made it from scratch. Well worth the wait. We ordered kadai paneer, daal tadka, aloo parantha, garlic naan. Everything tasted Delicious and the prices were very reasonable too. Just what we needed. Check this place out if you are looking for good Indian food.

I love Indian food and Swaaget does a great job. I get lots and freeze the extra. I order: Dal tadka -(black lentils), Palak with cheese -(palak=spinach), Kadhai chicken, Chana masala (chickpeas) and Aloo jara (potato) It is delicious.

I treated my son to his first experience with Indian food here at their Sydney location and neither of us could be happier. I've always enjoyed Indian cuisine, and my son now absolutely loves it too! We ordered take-out and my son said the car ride home smelled 'like heaven' lol. He can not wait to try more from their menu. It took a little extra time to prepare but the wait was well worth the end result. We had the butter chicken, the chicken curry, the naan, and samosa. Staff was super friendly. 100% will be returning.

Awesome service and delicious food. ??

Please don't order the Biryani. I ordered and it was really really bad. They mixed very old chicken curry with white rice. The chicken smelled bad and the rice was not even basmati rice.
